Anybody have an Injury Update
I read on the Michigan 247 board that Countess had a knee sprain. Don't know the accuracy of it or the seriousness of a knee sprain if it's true.
I will cry tears of joy if it is just a sprain. They'll need the MRI to be sure though.
I hope it's nothing as serious as a knee sprain. Countess has been described as a workhorse on this defense. If there's something wrong with his leg, they're going to shoot him.
How does 247 know this information and not the general public? They have a trainer as inside info-sharer or something?
that he was hearing knee strain, idk how to link to a tweet though so here's it copy pasted
No official word from Michigan on Blake Countess, but heard after the game that the early word is it's NOT an ACL.#LittleGoodNewsOnBadNight
Hearing knee strain as opposed to ACL. Time will tell. No official word one way or the other from #Michigan until Monday at earliest
Have heard nothing on Lewan yet
yes, we are keeping it a secret from you
Demens will be out 2-3 weeks with a broken ego.
Not only Demens, but he entire defense. Wow, that was ugly. Good thing it is only the first game!
The defense went up against an NFL O-Line and Running Back. They made a lot of solid tackles -- don't fault them for their competition.
only yeldon was a freshman, lacy and fowler were both juniors or seniors. all of them were massive and they will break a lot of tackles this year
I know. I'm just not telling.
It's on the VIP board.
I'm assuming Demens got pulled. Errybody got pulled tonight
But I'm curious about Countess/Lewan updates as well. Your thread is a lifeboat of usefulness amidst a sea of orca piss and cat dung.
That orca piss, like sheep's bladders, can be used to prevent natural disasters.
all injuries are life threatening. at least that's the conclusion i made. you can call me webmd if you like
"Michael Rothstein@mikerothstein
Hoke had no update on Countess or Lewan."
So I'm guessing no updates until tomorrow at the earliest.
Felt like Gibbons tried to kick my groin while thinking of a brunette.
Knowing Hoke we won't know for sure until the Air Force game starts
Every Alabama player is fine. Thanks for the concern.
my feelings are hurt and I have a headache from that game... I'm going to sleep.
Well, my eyes seem to have stopped bleeding, finally. So there's that. Thx for asking.
loves your work. That should make you happy.
Countess and Lewan are injured.
Lewan and Countess each have a boo-boo.
/Hoke press conference
actually played, it just looked like he wasn't out there.
If anyone had an injury update, i'm sure they would post a thread much better than the last ten threads.
Catastrophically kicked in.
Good one.
obvious no practice. Back at the hotel and still can't believe our top receiver is a QB that can't catch and the only offensive scheme we can come up with that works is the long pass. Watch some Troy Smith video for godsakes. The fact that we are 2 years, at least, undermanned doesn't help.
Blake Countess on crutches per Mike Rothstein....
Heather Cox mentioned something about Hoke himself being "really sick" and having "lost his voice." Anyone know what that was all about? Cold? Flu?
Hoke lost his voice - I'm sure he'll get over it, but he'd be grateful for your genuine concern.
Is my diagnosis.
Sure they did—after the Alabama player ran through three or four tackles first. With a few exceptions, the tackling was horrendous this evening.
He was a freshman but I've seen enough good backs to know that RB is legit. Those were Gordon and Kovacs tackles they were running through in the backfield and you know neither of those guys simply forgot how to do it. Once that tackle was broken it was 8 yards behind Barrett Jones's second block. Only running back we face who will be that dangerous against a Kovacs tackle attempt is...dammit...Le'Veon Bell.
You mean for the penalties?
Kidding
Are we really in a position where we can take teams like Air Force for granted and sit are best players? They had a weaning record last year and we just made Alabama look like the Emmitt Smith led Dallas Cowboys.
Borges's credibility suffered an injured knee. There will be an update on its status after the air force game to see if it's a "boo-boo" or something more serious (like a level 3 DeBoard tear"
I doubt we need either Lewan or Countess for another 3 weeks when we go to South Bend. However, I really hope they see the field next week as players need game speed to work on their skills and conditioning.
Go Blue!
Don't go to sleep on Air Force. I know they played Idaho State, but they still racked up 629 yards of total offense, and their RB is DARN GOOD.
Gonna need to play tight and hard to control that game like we'll want.
no 16 is all right ...i will not panic....
was having a LOT of trouble limping back to the locker room after the game ended.
Rivals claims that Lewan's injury is "not serious."
Whatever that means.
Michigan Radio claimed that Lewan told the coaches he could go back into the game if needed.
You are truly just the worst kind of person. Thanks for stopping by, I'm sure we'll never cross paths and I am grateful for that.
Edit: Mods banned the user which these comments were directed at.
That picture of Countess makes me sick. We need him and Lewan healthy!
In all honesty, with depth concerns and history, why play your starting CBs on special teams? I'm sure Blake is one of the better speed guys for that unit, but you have so many guys on scholarship, I just don't understand why he is playing there regardless of his abilities/ history on ST.
i was at game and watched Countess on sideline. After sitting awhile, he stood up and was running in place but never reentered game. Dont think its a major injury.
I can tell you I saw a staff member repeat one part, and only one part of the knee physical exam on the sideline: The ACL exam. He compared right and left exams (standard) then whispered in his co workers ear.
I can also tell you that ACLs don't sprain, they tear. Regardless of what you may have been told in the past, especially in high performance athletes, ACL sprains are extaordinarily rare.
As you probably know, sometimes tears can be without significant pain, and running after the injury is quite possible. The instability is the issue.
I'm hoping for the best for the kid, and assuming nothing. Maybe the guy doing the exam was just a trainer, and did not want to get in trouble for telling Countess his knee felt fine.
I heard it's not a tear for Countess. But no more info available. Possibly back for ND. I haven't heard anything about Lewan though. And this is just info from more 'in the know' posters on other boards, so obviously no first hand sources.
