Any Other MGoCauses You Would Help Kickstart?

Submitted by West German Judge on

Now that HTTV has been successfully funded (first time contributor, here), are there any other products/services/changes you would pay to see Brian et al offer?

I'll suggest the logical followup to the HTTV season preview: a season review. Complete with collated UFFR's, Ace post-game highs and lows, MVPs and room for improvement and draft prospects and exit profiles and more.

tl;dr what has you saying

Yeah, sure!  Email me your address, and while you are at it, include your SSN and bank routing numbers so I can send the money right away.  I have around $11M that I can send you once you give me this information.  You might need to just help with some of the wire transfer costs, but that won't be more than a few grand.

I have wondered if people would be up for putting together some sort of online petition that (respectfully) informs Dave Brandon of the problems people have with the gameday/ticket-buying experience.

I could see a season review getting at least some leve of interest - I don't know if it would nearly be on the scale of HTTV, but I think they could perhaps do an e-publish at least - and probably for less. It might depend a lot on the outcome of the season as to how many people back it, which is why the electronic-only route for a review might be a safer bet, but presented well enough, I personally would definitely be interested.

I've worked on the creation of a couple of scholarships at Michigan via alternative means including online auctions etc. I've always wondered what would happen if we used some form of crowdsourcing to create an MGoScholarship. The scholarship could ultimately be given to a student who worked in the Spts Info Dept of the athletic department or possibly one of the students who do the game broadcasts for WCBN (the student radio station) or even a sportswriter at the Daily who, as part of the scholarship had to write a column for MGoBlog. We could also possibly give it to a student manager of an athletic team since those guys put in as much work as the athletes but don't get anything except some apparel in return. The possibilities for recipients are endless. Just curious what you all think of the concept.

The minimum amount to create an endowed scholarship at Michigan is $25,000 to yield $1,000 interest annually for distribution to the recipient. Are there enough people out there who would donate $25, $50 or $100 to make it happen? Would the MGoBlog staff be willing to incentivize it?

I got an idea... an MGoBlog GIF Library... There are so many great gifs... it would be so cool to have a library of sorts, searchable by tag names or whatnot.  The kickstarter can pay for the hosting fees etc.

Fools. This thing is free and we like it that way. Pay to keep it free and let some MGoDudes set up retirement accounts and stuff.

MGoInvestigations.  Let's get the real story on all the sleazy backroom dealings at OSU, Alabama, FSU, and whatever the hell Calipari is up to at Kentucky.  Damnit, if the NCAA isn't going to do it's job, we'll do it for them.

Somebody get Stephen Ross on the phone and lets fund this puppy!
