Hey guys I'm going to be in San Francisco for the EMU game. Is there any chance of me seeing the game? Thanks.

The Big Ten Nework is only five bucks exta a month. If your friend is paying more than this, tell him to call and bitch. I made sure well before the begining of the college start that I was equipped. I live in Concord, CA. Take care.

It's gonna be tough because of the time of day. But any sports bar that is open would have it. Try Union Square Sports Bar, it has a lot of TVs. If that isn't open there is one I know would be open called Zeke's that is very close to AT&T park. Word of warning: one of the owners is from the state of Ohio and is a big OSU fan. He will give you some crap, but is pretty cool anyway.

Dunno where in SF you'll be, but a few years back I had success seeing Big Ten games (including M) at joint called Hobson's Choice in Haight-Ashbury, although our bartender turned out to be a Sparty.

I'm in the same situation down in Evansville Indiana. Probably some sports bars (B-Dubbs) around here will have the BTN though. I'd try channelsurfing.net. I used that to watch all the Red Wings games this season.

The game will be on Big Ten network. 9am for the time difference, but the bars open up early just for us. In San Francisco, the "Golden Gate" alumni club group watches the game every saturday at a bar named "Blue Light". Blue Light, www.bluelightbarsf.com 1979 Union Street, San Francisco, CA 94123 PH:415.922.5510 More information here http://goldengate.umclubs.com/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntn… If you will be closer to San Jose (I'm a local), the Silicon Valley group meets in Los Gatos at Double D's. 354 N Santa Cruz Ave Los Gatos, CA 95030 http://siliconvalley.umclubs.com/ Don't forget about your alumni clubs while out of town!

A) As people mentioned before, the Blue Light is the UM alumni bar. It is not my favorite place. It's all the way out in the Marina, it's always crowded, it's a split UM-Texas alumni bar, and the food is kind of meh. The good news is that they will 100% show the game and will play The Victors on the PA after every touchdown. So you've got that going for you. B) People have suggested Zeke's. Zeke's is a great sports bar. It will be open, and I can pretty much guarantee that it will also show the game, though you may want to call in advance just to be sure. Regardless, if you're closer to Zeke's than the Blue Light, I would probably recommend Zeke's because it will be 1/10th as obnoxious. One caveat: Zeke's is SORT OF a Sparty Bar. It's more of a Kentucky bar, but it also has some Little Brother stuff up here and there. Just be aware. C) If you're staying somewhere that has Comcast cable sports package, the local BTN game is Michigan-EMU. I know this because I live in SF, I have Comcast cable sports package, and I will be watching Michigan-EMU in the comfort of my own apartment. D) If I were you, I'd make my decision based on where in the city you were staying. In most neighborhoods, there's at least one bar that will have the game and will open in time for you to view the kickoff. If you tell me where you're staying, I can give you the heads up on the nearest best bar. E) This is nit-picky and I'm sorry for being pedantic about this, but: Please don't call it San Fran. It's not nearly as odious or offensive as "Frisco", but it's still a dead giveaway that you are not a local. "San Francisco", "SF", or "The City" are all acceptable. San Fran tends to grate.

Hey Subrosa, I live in the Bay area, is there any places outside the city you know of that are Big Ten or Michigan themed besides Zekes or the Blue Light? It sucks walking into a random bar at 9 in the mourning and being the only Michigan fan or football fan in general. Thanks

On 19th and Irving there is the sportsbar, Underdogs, that is owned by an alum. They'll be open at 9am for the game and the food is awesome. I recommend getting the taco "nick's way." Plus after the game you can wander around the area which is a smaller and less chaotic chinatown. Its also right on the edge of golden gate park. Ditto on the "SF" not "San Fran." Have fun.
