I'm by no means a law expert; is there any chance this sick fvck gets off scotch free???
Any chance Sandusky [goes free]??
This thread should just be deleted.
I think "getting off" is what got him in this position.
Changed. I really, really hope it was unintentional.
lets hope not
I'm no law expert either, but I'm old enough to have seen the first OJ trial. If he plead not-guilty, there is a chance he will walk away.
Sandusky's lawyer is no where the legal dream that O.J. had.
I agree with David.
To answer you though: maybe. You never know with these things, but the accusations are many.
The OP chose a really bad title for this...
John Deer letter, Tea and Strumpets...
....that any references to "strumpets" clearly belong in the Craig James thread.
For all intensive purposes ...
Eh, it's all one in the same.
Or perhaps Sandusky has an alcohol problem?
I'm usually very psychic about these things . . . and I sense a deduction in mgopoints in your future.
It happens. Sometimes guilty people sometimes go free. Sometimes innocent people go to jail. The justice system is far from perfect.
We won't know the odds until we see the prosecutor's case, so until then, let's just let things unfold. The important thing is that after all these years, the issue will finally see the light of day (and a jury).
Also, I think it's "scot-free."
to the title of this thread.
if sandusky is found guilty, he is done. buy a bullet and rent a gun.
Yeah, no. Bad things would happen if he were to do so
I'm no legal expert, but I am in law school. However, the truth is that whether or not Sandusky is deemed guilty or innocent will not depend on any legal analysis, it really will entirely depend on how the jury views the accusers and any other witnesses put on the stand, including Sandusky himself.
You don't need to be a legal expert to decipher what the verdict will be. It really will come down to teh credibility of the witnesses and accusers
Have you seen his lawyer? Far from the best money could offer. In fact, he's probably the only one that would take the case, and he shouldn't even be able to practice.
I am by no means supporting Sandusky or trying to make light of the situation or make anything more than superficial parallels. However, a few years ago peple were saying similar things about the Duke LAX players. Although he seems incredibly guilty from all of the information that has been released thus far, we are not privvy to all of the facts.
Preemptively please dont attack me. I AM NOT defending Sandusky in any way, just pointing out that none of us know all of the facts. Although his guilty conviction seems likely -- who knows what will come out in the next year?
And im also pretty sure they could throw another charge without breaking 'double-jeopardy'.
In a criminal trial, with a requirement for finding beyond a reasonable doubt, there's always a possibility, but I'd be very surprised. There are, last I heard, 10 potential victims lined up to say that he raped them. Sympathy for them will be huge. Sandusky's attorney, who has done some really stupid things in defending him, has to then try to cross-examine the alleged victims, which only creates greater sympathy for the victims. There could well be a hung jury, but prosecutors will re-try until they get the verdict they want.
If he did what he has been accused of, I sure hope not. But let's say that does happen. I doubt his remaining life will resemble his former one. Some consolation, I think.
Jerry Sandusky's going to be a GenPop pin cushion, bank on it.
If he goes free, somebody will kill him. piece of shit, fuck I'll kill him
yeah that will show him
...but I suggest getting back on your medication.
Either way, he'll die poor and outcast from society. The worst case scenario is that he squanders all of his money on lawyers and the victims only get whatever the Sheriff can go and remove. Best case, he agrees to a life sentence, has to liquidate his house, car, savings, ect. and it goes to the victims, as well as the $.12 per hour federal inmates make.
Absolutely not. The judicial system always works flawlessly and convicts the guilty while letting the innocent walk free. Jury's do not get swayed by star-power, celebrity or any other variables - they just look at and process the evidence like anyone else would.
Choose the ONE example of the justice system failing.
I think Brian said it before, "Sandusky has to be pretty high on the suicide watch list now". Although he seems delusional - I guess people really can convince themselves that they are innocent in situations like these.
I tried going scotch free for a while. It didn't take.
It's Malaprop Man!
