Another signing day suprise may be on the way

Submitted by Quail2theVict0r on

Per Josh Helmholdt on rivals:

"Waiting to see if this comes to fruition, but could be in store for one more Signing Day add."

UPDATE: The rumor swirling around is that Alex Kozan is not quite sold on Iowa yet and may be considering Michigan.

My guess is Kozan.  Allegedly he is still considering Michigan and hasn't sent in his LOI yet.

Though it still probably won't happen.  But I'm sayin' there's a chance.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch.  Tip of the cap to you, sir.

Analysts saying Ohio is done, no more surprises. After Norfleet Michigan is ranked #3 according to Scout. Did anybody expect Hoke to pull this off when he was hired.

Also, apparently we are sending a lot of '13 offers today.

I wish that were really the case, but check these tweets.  Seems Ohio just has to give an excuse for over-signing (i.e. tummy ache, sun got in my eyes, etc.):

RT : Ohio St could add others today, but need to keep Big Ten informed about how/why gettiing to 82, must be at 82 for preseason

Then, about 30 minutes later, this tweet:

 RT : Jamal Marcus picks

that our first surprise signee was a WR already committed to a SEC school.

If there is a second surprise (which I doubt will happen), it won't be Kozan.

I know ESPN sucks, but I have to bring this up. ESPN claims to be updating football class rankings "every hour," yet we still have 24 commits in its rankings. Also, they have us with zero five stars, and our top prospect is Terry Richardson. No offense to T. Rich, but really? This is a Ditka "STOP IT!" moment.  /end rant.

Yeah ESPN sucks, they've already declared Alabama to have the No. 1 class in the country even though lots of people are still making moves. ESPNU is new to the recruiting game, and for now Rivals and Scout are loads better

I agree, but I also think people undersell Mizzou a bit - they have an explosive offense and are going to the SEC, where all their games will be televised nationally and ESPN will run a 32-hour special about their backup punter.  So this seems like a good pick-up but not outrageous.

I took a trip to ESPN to get a recap of the Wings game and check on a couple other non-NCAAFB related things, but couldn't help but notice the recruiting news on the front page. Obviously shouldn't have clicked on the link because it nearly made my head explode.

Kozan is speculation at this point, but I have to agree with Don, the potential suprise alert appears to be smoke and mirrors.  The previous potential surprise, though I must say I'm very pleased with, was a miss as far as position and previous school.

I'm not getting my hopes up, so I truely will be surprised.

Congrats to Fitz and the Cats! As for Kozan he's made his decision I'm sure but it is signing day and its all about surprises! I still think there would be room for Diamond even if we sign Kozan. C'mon look how many people OSU has signed thus far.
