Another Recruiting Question
I'm sorry we have had so many of these it is starting to match 2010 depth chart threads, but I had something pop in my head today. Listening to Sam Webb and readng some tea leaves it appears we are going to have to do some manuevering to get all of our wish list in to school. I don't want everyone to do their count again, my question is this. Where are the decommit and non qualifier rumors?? Last year it seemed rampant every other day. Is my timing off?? Does this ramp up after the season? The only talk has been Gardner which to me has bascially been the Freep making stuff up to keep their thumb on Mich. Gardner has done nothing to fan the flames. Is this just a boring recruiting year or are things just getting ready to go nuts??

No, that would be too easy. The way things have gone for Michigan, we will have multiple top players trying to commit, but no room for them, none of the others will de-commit, and all will qualify.
(Yes, I realize something will give, but right now I am in full Michigan-Sports-hating-god mentality).

When did he stop looking at UM and where is he leaning now?

but I work with his cousin, who says he's looking at us still. She's going to talk to him over thanksgiving break and do a little recruiting for us.

Ricardo's facebook status said:
44 days till i enroll at michigan class 2010
and Josh Furman liked it. It could be good news you never know

I thought Furman didn't make it up for the game? Didn't he miss it because he rushed for 400+ yds in a HS game the night before?

Someone on this blog, I think on TomVH's post, mentioned he got to the airport late, and missed his flight. That was all.

Unless the same happened to Furman.

recruitin openings probably depend on how many 5th yr seniors we ask back. checking on another site we have quite a few guys who enter there 5th yr. i don't believe they automatically get their 5th yr anyway which will open up quite a few schollies.

really doesn't affect '10 recruiting class. They have a limit of 25 with no counting schollie toward '09 class due to early enrollees.
So RR has to find a way to fit a lot of recruits into his class. Some will get slowplayed alas Jordan Barnes to commit to a different school IMO.

It seems your comment, that we can only fit 25, is being repeated so many times on this board that is now considered a fact, however I extensively researched for a recent diary and found no evidence to support the idea that early enrollees can't count against last years open slots.
You can review what I found here:
http://mgoblog.com/diaries/ncaa-scholarship-limit-review
If you can find any authoritative link confirming that we can't use last years openings please post it.
The question really is how many fifth years won't be invited back.

hopson recruiting? I think we can look there for some possible de-commits.

He got Drake and the Talbott bros, and is about to add Grimes to his list. But next year let's have him recruit WRs, except for Arnett.

I really really hate when around signing day a recruit commits to program, then signs with another the week later. Why even commit?
