Oh, yeah, you're right. Thank god, I was worried for a bit.  I was confused because this will be the sixth different uniform Michigan has used in under a year.

Serious questions:

A: Would DB be uniform happy if they weren't being sold?

B: Over/Under on 2014 before we see legit-Maize jerseys?

This is a great uniform. Best since the Sugar Bowl uniforms. Love it, definitely going to pick up a jersey.

I'm not really on board with all these alternative jerseys..... OK, truth be told, if any of you have noticed my posting habits on this topic, you know I want to put them on a one-way rocket to the sun and never wear that crap again.

That said.....I actually don't hate these and would be down if these became our regular road jerseys.  Simple block numbering, relatively clean lines, and a sharp-looking block M on the shoulder.  I might actually like these.

<sigh>

ADIDAS GET THE %$#@! OFF MY LAWN.

I like how it's adidas (no capitalization) in the article.  And I like how there's going to be an American flag on the back of the helmet.

HA! DB saying the coaches and players chose this.  Color me skeptical about the veracity of that statement.

Article implies no alternate uniforms for the Notre Dame game..?  Maybe that's old information, but I thought for sure we'd be in some bumblebee lookin' getup for that game.

Per @umichfootball on twitter.

2012 Uniform plan

  • New paint on the wings of the helmet to better highlight it and a creative more durable surface
  • B1G logo patch will be on Michigan's jerseys as well as every other B1G teams
  • Helmet numbers will be suspended after the Cowboys Classic

My feeling the entire day-

(My emphasis)

My god, they're actually doing it.  They're going to fuck with the helmets.  I'm going to have an internet freak out... and then return to my beer and go on with life.  But seriously, I'm guessing some metallic, Oregon-like godlessness.

adidas logos, American flags, B1G patches, "Legend" patches.  And don't you dare forget the obligatory bowl-game patch.

If we are just going to whore out the uniform space, please let's get some truly obscene money for it.  I'm thinking Goldman Sachs; maybe Haliburton.  AIG is locked into Manchester United, isn't it?  Or mabye STP.  STP used to have a big adverstising budget.  Wait I got it; Budweiser.  The King of Beers.

I like them.  Infinitely better than the shit we wore against Sparty last year.  Also no helmet numbers = a good thing.

I'm tired of this. Honestly, if those were the new, permanent road jersey, I would be kinda-sorta okay with it, despite my lifelong distaste for full shoulder yokes. At least it would be consistent. But we'll probably go back to flipping jerseys all the time, and that will probably include a completely-unecessary alternate home jersey that can only be a downgrade from Michigan's long-running best uniform in football.

Michigan may consider designing a special bowl game jersey if the opportunity presents itself. However, a final determination will be made later in the year.

No...However, I am so damn sick and tired of new jerseys all the time, but the simple fact is as long as people keep buying every single jersey they come out with...Brandon and company will keep making them
