True Blue Grit

It sounds like Dawson is a pretty tough kid and will eventually overcome this terrible tragedy.  His father really gave him a pretty big gift that will help make him a success at Michigan and after he leaves here.   A lot of doing big things is about focus.

easily the hardest thing I have ever endured was losing my Dad two years ago. I am a grown man and had a difficult enough time dealing with it, I can't imagine being Dawson's age (or youger) and dealing with that type of loss. I  hope this kids has a great career.

That was actually a pretty good read from the Free Press and thanks for posting this.

I cannot imagine losing a parent that young and having to sort through the emotional aftermath of that as a teenager. It seems like he took his father's lesson on focus to heart though, and as someone mentioned, it will serve him well in the years ahead, at Michigan and beyond. I hope his career at Michigan - on and off the field - is an awesome one. Stay strong, David.

Thanks for sharing.  Struck a few chords with me.

I hope Dave has great career at Michigan and that the Michigan family is able to embrace and support him.

We are lucky to have him.
