Another Glenville Recruit "Impressed" by Michigan
http://michigan.scout.com/a.z?s=162&p=8&c=1&nid=3941788
Its behind a Paywall, but there is article on Scout talking about OT Audrey Walker's Visit to UM. Walker is currently a 4-star prospect with offers from USC, tOSU, PSU, ND, MSU, and a host of other schools.
He's a big boy at 6'6 335, but gives off that same "gentile giant" vibe that William Campbell had. Perhaps the best quote of the article was:
“The school impressed me overall with the academics and the football,” Walker continued. "Coach Rod is real cool! He gave me a couple of Reese’s cups, some Gatorade, and we chilled and talked (laughing). He’s real cool and down to earth man.”I'll be dubious of any Glenville visitors until the day we finally land one, but hey, at least we're still trying...
Reese's cups and gatorade for free!??!?! oh boy. major violations are coming.
/sarcasm
you put /sarcasm but in all seriousness, what is allowed? Is food permitted? Below a certain $$ amount???
i was kind of wondering the same thing. There has to be some dollar amount or intent to give an unfair advantage i'm sure.
2 Resses cups = ok
1 Truck Load of Resses cups = not ok
The NCAA probably has a specific number of grams of sugar permitted at each unofficial visit.
USC interprets 'sugar' in a very different way.

for the Freep to "misinterpret" the rule on allowable sugar grams and run a front page story.
How many pallets are on this truck?
/Logistics humor
are they countable Reese's cups?
as long as they're not "big cups" I think you're ok =)
You mean like Terrence Cody?
no one wants to see that
I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Well if somehow he get drafted by the Lions I'll be a happy camper (2ed/3ed round).
P.S. Whats with the big boys from ALA taking there shirts off all the time (Andre Smith last year), No one wants to see the "Moobs".

With the dreads, should have been a Wolverine...

For a minute I thought it was a reference to Lane Kiffin's...ahem...recruiting hostesses at Tennessee.
Blazefire hasn't gotten to this one yet? Is he going to just leave all those MGoPoints hanging there?
where he'll get putang and malt liquor for free!!!
Is that what it takes to get to the Glenville kids? Barwis would be furious if he knew
Why isn't his name Goliath?
Where's the MGoCreeper van? We've got a sure-fire commitment post if it can get to Ohio with some leftover Reese's Easter egss!
That's it, let's get it rollin'
too clean to be a creeper van? Creeper vans need more rust, scratches...and bald tires. IME.
Reese's cups and Gatorade is usually served at the wedding reception in Ohio.
Only the ones at the nicest rest stops. Don't be so elitist.
Is this better or worse than a Jewish giant? Do Jews even play football?
they actually play the game quite well.
You mean he's not Jewish?
So much for that Yeshiva offer he's been waiting on.
I hope that RichRod can start getting recruits from there again. This kid is going to be good.
Even if Ginn can't convince him to go to O$U wouldn't he at least steer him somewhere else, he's not lacking in premium offers. I think we have more of a chance with Cardale Jones because Michigan is his best shot for playing QB.
I sure hope we can get our foot in the door there. That is a big big boy too.
We just need to get one of these guys just to have a presence at Glenville, if it happens to be this kid that would be even better because this kid sounds like a big time prospect
PSU has also offered and, given their proximity to Hershey PA, we don't really have a chance on this one. Sorry to be a buzz kill on this one!
He also gave his top 3 in that article... UM not among them.
Agree with mgowin... this one isn't happening.
What was his Top 3?
actually it was OSU, MSU and USC. Though you can put in whatever schools you want for places 2 and 3.
Which he followed up by saying that "if he had a fourth, it would be Michigan". So, deep thought and meditation has led me to believe that he as a top four, and Michigan is fourth.

It still baffles me that MSU is somehow ahead of Michigan right now according to Aundrey. Talk about the obviousness that Michigan gets no love from the Glenville coaches.

Move along sir, move along.
He was given Reese's cups AND a Gatorade - isn't that what Kiffin said to use? I've got an inkling that Lane didn't share the real recipe for a guaranteed commitment. I now have reason to doubt his integrity.

how fat do u think the roll of cash in that handshake is?
oh and i think kiffin is standing on a stool because he isnt completely dwarfed by henderson in the pic.
I believe Kiffin uses a smoking hot coed or 4 wearing Reese's cups as pasties and body shots of Gatorade.
Lesson number one in culinary school - it's all in the presentation.
At least he's not a genital giant.
Exactly: big shoes.
(To make him feel better).
He's going to Ohio State. He'll do what basically every other Glenville kid does and drag the process out into January, take visits, be open to all schools, maybe even name a different leader or two (Marcus Hall)...and then he will commit to Ohio State, as Glenville kids do.
Will you then put him on your most hated athlete's list? I keed I keed.
Did you know that Glenville has placed 22 kids on the top Ohio prospect list, per Rivals, in the 2006 through 2010 classes.
And more of them went to schools not named Ohio State.
So when somebody says, he will commit to Ohio State as Glenville kids do, there really shoud be an addendum that reads except for the kids who go to Tennessee, Illinois, Iowa, Miami Florida, Boston College, Purdue, Toledo, Wisconsin, Marshall and Indiana (Ray Fisher, hell yeah!).
I dont expect this kid to commit. I aint an insiderz, or even a pretend insiderz, so I know nothing about where any of these kids are going. But, I dont think this is a wasted effort by the Rodriguez staff. They are recruiting the entire state, this high school included even if it looks like a wasted effort to those of us watching from this board.
But my main point is this kid isnt an OSU lock because all Glenville kids go to Ohio State. That meme just is not true.
