Huard didn't give Hackenberg any credit. The guy made some fantastic throws, throws that Huard could only dream about, but never got any love for them. The guy has a great arm. I really feel bad for him. Not sure he's quite Cutler 2.0. I think his dedication an good intentions are there, he just go put into a bad situation. He came to a program, bereft of talent, hoping to play for a coach (O'Brien) that would prepare him for the pros, probably dreaming of turning around the program. Had a great year, then got dumped in Franklin's system. I'm not sure Franklin's staff has figure out how to best utilize him. And, for a school that has had so many WR's over the last 10-15 years, he has no targets. I can't imagine that he benefits from another year at psu. And, I imagine the feeling's the same on Franklin's side.

Don't mind this booth and I'm actually am happy we didn't get McDonough-Speilman.
I prefer that booth and don't even mind Speilman calling The Game, but I need at least a one year moratorium on them because McDonough's voice is giving me PTSD from the ending of the MSU game.

Granted, he does have osu leanings but I think he does good color. He was one of the first to say that we would be a top ten team this year and we are right on the cusp. If not for the fluke we are top 5 right now.

Keith Jackson was the best by far, especially for "The Game"! Can anyone tell me what in the world has happened to Brent Musburger? It is like he has been demoted or something. I know they switched the announcer pairings around, but I thought he was one of the best left out there. I have some good memories of him calling our games coming up... Go Blue! Beat Ohio! Not holding my breath but c'mon Penn St.

became terrible at the end.  Could not remember anything and would make the wrong call with the game happening right in front of him.  I DVR all the Michigan v ND games and any of those games he announced, all kinds of mistakes that you miss the first time through.  Calling out wrong player, the play, who tackled, just almost disconnected.   Herbie covered his ass plenty of times.

SEC is a good place for him, because he sure did not belong as the lead announcer for ESPN or any one else. (other than the SEC)

This is an improvement definitely. The most startling revelation from last week's crew is that Huard and I apparently had the same or very similar sweater vests. My sweater vest has since been burned in the hope that a better set of announcers might be possible and it seems like that was achieved.

They called the 2013 game I believe too. One of the best crews on ESPN. McDonough & Spielmam and Fowler & Herbie are the other two teams that I don't have issue with.

I too miss Muss and Keith. And boy to I miss Beckmann as a PBP guy. Brandy is really bad
