This time it's true freshman Barkley Hill. Knee injury, and it sounds bad.
and the statistical probability of this happening is approximately 1 in Craig James getting elected.
Craig james getting elected=o
lim x->0 1/x
equates to infinity.
It is infinitely possible that Craig James allegedly killed 5 hookers while at SMU?
I like those odds..^
Injuries are to Iowa RBs >/= Death is to Hookers who cross paths with Craig James
I think it is fairly clear that Craig James is AIRBHG
That's him on the right, btw.
There has to be an Iowa blog somewhere that has a "Never Forget" mural ten times the size of ours. This is beyond absurd.
This is ridiculous...wtf are they doing in their practices?
Maybe their dong forest is made out of aluminum baseball bats?
would it still be a forest?
Have they forgotten how to stretch? (we could give them pointers)
This goes far beyond statistical anomolies here. Time to hire some paranormal investigators.
who has the family guy clip of peter trying to be the human jack for president Clinton's car after it has a flat tire and explains the correct procedure for doing so.
Starts at roughly the 1:12 mark.
The only question now is who is pushing the pins. I don't know a lot about the history of Iowa football, but it shouldn't be hard to come up with a list of the usual suspects.
(Edit: Okay, not laughing any more. And now I feel bad because no matter the odds of it happening at the same position, it seriously sucks for the player and I wish him a full and speedy recovery)
I share your guilty confession. If I were an Iowa fan, I don't know how much more throw my hands up in the air I could be doing at this point.
I'm pretty sure Iowa fans hit that point when Coker transferred. They're broken and planning a straight air-raid offense instead.
This will only serve to anger AIRBHG. His bloodlust must be slaked or his wrath will be awesome and terrible to behold.
Had to know it would enrage him.
It's either that, or Tanya Harding and Jeff Gillooly must really hate Iowa.
there have been so many i lost track of how many RB's they have lost.
someone please remind me.
always hate to see a young man go down.
I think it is number 7 just this year. Coker transferred, McCall left the team, Michael Malloy lost his scholarship for being arrested, Canzeri tore his ACL, Garmon got arrested, De'Andre Johnson got kicked off the team, and now hill.
But part of me is astounded that this is ACTUALLY real.
This post does a good job of summing the period prior to wolverine_chemist's summary:
this has gone beyond the realm of comical. at this point i just feel bad for iowa. they might be getting to the point where vandenberg has to hand it off to himself on run plays. i mean who else does he have left to hand it off to?
Last thing they need right now is for Vandenberg to get some injury because hes playing RB
he would than become a quasi RB and probably get hurt as a result.
Definitely rockin my Michigan gear!
After all this, Iowa may need an exorcist. Or five.
Can you exorcise a god?
though you'll probably get stiffed on the bill.
Tough for Iowa when there was a thread with the exact same "Strikes again" title less than one month ago: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/angry-iowa-running-back-hating-god-strikes-again
I never like to see guys get hurt. Hope he makes a full recovery..
According to HawkeyeNation, it was the final play of the scrimmage actually, so not only is AIRBHG, well, angry, he has definite poetic flair. Depthwise, it leaves them with Damon Bullock, a guy who splits time at linebacker and air, I think. Still, you hate to see athletes go down with injuries which, depending on the severity, could significantly alter their football career.
That being said, they are one more visit from AIRBHG away from having to pass on 3rd and 1, or if not this, then Vandenberg can pick up some of the rushing game. His 78 attempts for 61 yards last year sounds very promising
Has to consist of 10 RB's each year just to keep up with AIRBHG.
At this point, what RB would agree to go to Iowa?
So you're a free safety? We want you to play in the deep spot on the field, overlooking all the other players so you can freely shift in the direction the play is flowing and go get the ball even if it for some reason simply handed off to you sort of...that's why we want you to play at Iowa. You're the kinda kid that goes and gets the ball. We DEFINITELY need more kids like you on our team...in a hurry.
Let's not go overboard here. If they lose 7 RBs a year, then they only need to recruit 8 to have a healthy RB. So 10 is probably too many.
When I read the title I thought for sure that the OP had simply forgotten that this had been posted a few weeks ago. Then I clicked on the thread and boy was I wrong. I feel bad for all these guys getting injured, but the running back situation at Iowa has become comical.
It's time for the hawkeyes to abandon the running game.
Time to hire Mike Leach!
Next year they bring in Mike Leach and go all Air Raid on the B1G? That's as likely as Michigan going to a spread based on small yet fast athletes.
Does anyone know where I could find the running count of running backs that have met their doom by choosing to go to Iowa?
