In terms of stadium-to-field proportions, I imagine football at Bristol would be close to hockey at Michigan Stadium. It would be more of an spectacle than a real football game. Plus you would honestly need binoculars to see anything.

I for one would rather have a home-and-home than a neutral site matchup, and I'm glad Hackett has said as much too.

Maybe he doesn't like adidas from his time at USD

Hackett is beyond awesome. Now if he can land a tier one hockey coach his job will be done.

Someone commented to this effect earlier today but essentially, it seems like Hackett probably liked retirement but when the call came from Michigan, he agreed to do it. It doesn't seem to me like he's the kind of guy who wants to stick around forever. He has a couple more goals to achieve and then he'll find someone to entrust the program to. Can't blame him.

The fact that he managed to get DeCarolis to assist the transition for the next AD is big. Ensures continuation of the program and the directions Hackett has laid down...

Is there a petition somewhere to keep Hacket as permanent AD?  I'd like to sign it.  I've been very impressed.  We actually have an adult in the room now--not a petulent know-it-all.

I am very pleased with what Hackett has done in his short time as AD. Thinking about the situation the athletic department was in last fall, I have gained more confidence in President Schlissel for choosing Hackett. Many did not trust Schlissel to pick the right AD because his focus on academics. This hire has shown that, even though Schlissel doesn't place great emphasis on college athletics, he is a good judge of character and chose the right man to lead the department out of last fall's tire fire.
