Should be the basis of more than a couple articles later today or tomorrow.
Angelique's story about the Nike deal in the Detroit News.
I made things so much worse deciding to wear suede shoes that day. With snow on the ground in the stadium that might have been the worst apparel decision I've ever made.
If there is no college located at the site of a game, it is by definition a neutral site game. You are bad and you should feel bad.
In terms of stadium-to-field proportions, I imagine football at Bristol would be close to hockey at Michigan Stadium. It would be more of an spectacle than a real football game. Plus you would honestly need binoculars to see anything.
I for one would rather have a home-and-home than a neutral site matchup, and I'm glad Hackett has said as much too.
But here's how the Big House would fit inside Bristol
Don't screw over the fan base! Play the big opponents home and home! I don't mind travelling to a Tennessee, LSU, Georgia etc.

NEVER STOP FUCKING! You can do both at once.
Student ticket sales, sales being the key word. Sounds like they've bounced back from a few off years.
The sales rebounded by 35% or more.
in the NFL then coaching at Stanford
Maybe he doesn't like adidas from his time at USD
If he lands Mike Babcock in 12 months.... ;)
but if anyone can do it, dammit it's Hackett
Think Babcock is going to coach the California Golden Seals, before he'd ever coach college hockey.
"Wants interim stripped from title" I believe that means Hackett is staying. YES!
You need to read that and the tweet about DeCarolis again.
Yes, I do feel like Jim when he tells Michael to head back to the annex when Toby returns.
Damn. I don't understand why he doesn't want to come back.
Someone commented to this effect earlier today but essentially, it seems like Hackett probably liked retirement but when the call came from Michigan, he agreed to do it. It doesn't seem to me like he's the kind of guy who wants to stick around forever. He has a couple more goals to achieve and then he'll find someone to entrust the program to. Can't blame him.
isn't it?
and start a laundry list of projects he needs to complete before leaving. A long, long list.
Unfortunately, he is leaving inside of a year. He is legend!
By other projects, I assume it's getting a strong hockey coach and AD.
The next AD will be very important. Lots of key hires to make and facility upgrades as well as getting the budget squared away.
I think we got the budget squared away a few minutes after Harbaugh was announced as our coach.
The fact that he managed to get DeCarolis to assist the transition for the next AD is big. Ensures continuation of the program and the directions Hackett has laid down...
Lots of excitement in the student body surrounding Harbaugh and the home slate!!
For me, excited would be an understatement. #EUTM

It's really amazing what happens when a highly competent journalist interviews a highly competent subject.
Is there a petition somewhere to keep Hacket as permanent AD? I'd like to sign it. I've been very impressed. We actually have an adult in the room now--not a petulent know-it-all.
He will leave us in good hands! Legendary in my opinion!
get that man a statue...kidding...kindof
I'm not saying he should get a statue....but I'm not saying he shouldn't either
I am very pleased with what Hackett has done in his short time as AD. Thinking about the situation the athletic department was in last fall, I have gained more confidence in President Schlissel for choosing Hackett. Many did not trust Schlissel to pick the right AD because his focus on academics. This hire has shown that, even though Schlissel doesn't place great emphasis on college athletics, he is a good judge of character and chose the right man to lead the department out of last fall's tire fire.
I'm sure if he wanted the job it'd be his, but every bit of smoke says he doesn't. Remember, this gig has already taken him out of retirement. I'll be happy for him when he picks a long term replacement and rides off into the sunset as a badass/hero.
We need to convince him to stay, but how? I don't think sending hookers up to his room will work, but I'm willing to try. That and the petition are all I got for ideas. I'm tapped out.
