Angelique's story about the Nike deal in the Detroit News.
Dannnnnnng. You go girl!
Hope it comes off before Labor Day.
So we're the largest apparel deal of anything or Nike's largest? If we're # 1 of anyone, it shows the power of Harbaugh.

Seems to suggest that the Nike deal is the largest of any apparel deal, regardless of sponsor. The tweet said that all 3 proposals (Nike, Adidas, UA) would have been the biggest college deal, so Nike-Michigan being the biggest is a safe assumption to make. If you recall, the Adidas deal was the largest in the country at the time it was signed.

It's the largest, the longest, and the thickest.
That is what HE said.
I guess the tweet could be right.
... As well as the power of Hackett. He clearly knows how to leverage the Michigan Football brand without devaluing it, a la Brandon.
the apparel side of this deal for Nike is huge. Our alumni base is hungry right now.
Hackett is a straight MF Boss.
1. Michigan (Nike): $10 million (rumored)
2. Notre Dame (Under Armour): $9 million
3. Michigan (Adidas): $8.2 million
...
OSU (Nike): $4.18 million
What a fucking badass
No issues taking that interim tag off and putting him into a contract.

Interesting bit on the Minick situation... Good to hear Minick did the right thing and Hackett gave him a 2nd chance.
I was really happy to hear he did that.
Good information! Thanks for posting. Too bad Gary Moeller wasn't given that second chance years ago.
People wanted Moeller gone anyway. He was coming off back-to-back 8-4 (5-3) seasons. Not to be the inveterate cynic, but it had everything to do with whether he was getting a second chance or not.
If given a second chance, I doubt Gary Moeller ever sets foot in The Excalibur in Southfield. That's what you meant, right?
Completely agree, but he and Les Miles had issues that were underlying factors.
When Hackett says "Fuck that crocodile" before jumping into crocodile infested waters, the crocs just nod in agreement and swim away.
Chuck Norris respects his game...
Hackett negotiates Chuck Norris' contracts.
Yes, and he can light firworks off his head and shrug it off like a mosquito bite.
cuts telephone cables in half with his midsection.
Seems like Hackett makes all the right moves. A complete 180 from DB.
Too bad pimp hand is already used because Hackett's pimp hand is so strong right now
But here's a gif of him sending the plane to get Harbaugh:
Michigan was offered to play at a bunch of neutral site venues since Harbaugh was hired including a 160,000 seat venue i.e. a NASCAR track.
RE: football, Hackett not a fan of neutral-site games: "We have the largest stadium in the country and can recruit nationally without them."
— Zach Shaw (@_zachshaw) July 7, 2015
Hackett is not a fan of neutral site games.
God bless this man.
Isn't Va Tech playing at a NASCAR site this coming year?
It's gonna be one empty stadium... unless they really advertise the shit out of it.
VT vs Tennessee at Bristol in the Redneck Classic.
Everything college football shouldn't be. No one will be able to see shit.
College sports should be played on college campuses. Unfortunately, we still have a neutral site game we have to play in 2017 back at Arlington against Florida.
The smell of tobacco juice commingled with stale beer and vomit in 90 degree temps is going to be fabulous.
+1 for proper deployment and spelling of commingled.
Don, you're the dreamiest.
They're playing Tennessee at Bristol though so it should be sold out. If we played at MIS, it would be kind of cool and not really a neutral site game. If it was in another state, no thank you.
Wouldn't the stands be terribly far from the field? I think it'd be cooler to watch as a spectacle on television than actually being at the event. Much like I felt about being at The Big Chill and watching outdoor games from home.
I didn't think the Big Chill was too bad (and I was up high in a corner) but the sightlines at Progressive Field against OSU were awful from the heart of the Michigan section. The game would have been much easier to follow on TV.
Full disclosure: the weather probably has something to do with remembering both.
I was in the endzone about 30 rows up. Was hard to see much of anything from what I remember. It was a cool event to be a part of, but I'll probably never go to another one because I'd much rather watch hockey in Yost or an acutal hockey arena.
