Andy Moeller, Browns OL Coach, suspended indefinitely.
Apparently they are calling this a serious allegations. Hopefully this isn't as bad as it sounds like it might be. If Wikipedia is correct, he had had 3 alcohol related arrests in 4 years at one point but had apparently the last issue was in 2010.
The team's statement:
“Andy was involved in an incident, involving allegations that we take very seriously. We have followed our internal protocol, determining that right now it is best for the team and for Andy to take time away from the organization to focus on his personal matters. We are going to respect the process of investigation on this personal matter and will have no further comment at this time.”

If it was THAT bad, wouldnt he just be fired?
September 7th, 2015 at 3:40 PM ^
Probably have to await confirmation, legal advice, perhaps negotiating a rehab/support treatment stay...
September 7th, 2015 at 3:59 PM ^
that dictates what action the team takes in these kinds of situtations. I doubt their policy mandates or even allows someone to be fired at the first sign of trouble.
Does make me wonder, though, whether he had this kind of problem when we was here, and who knew about it if he did. Probably quite a few people.
September 7th, 2015 at 4:44 PM ^
Though indefinite is often a prelude to that while facts are checked. Rutgers did that the other day before booting those 5 guys for good. Harder to backtrack from firing if you make a rush to judgement and get it wrong.
September 8th, 2015 at 1:41 PM ^
That would be stupid. Organization has to be sure about what happened and get their lawyers involved before making a decision like that.

Whatever it is, hopefully he can get his professional and personal life in order soon.

If it's his fourth problem like this then I don't have too much hope for that.

Details will come out tomorrow, but it's sounding like more than just ("just") another DUI.

Do not want.
...but wish him the best in getting his life in order, and I pray no one was hurt in whatever may have happened.

It sounds like it might not be a DUI, if this is right...
Browns OL coach Andy Moeller's suspension comes in light of an investigation into a possible assault, sources say.

. . . Reporting Andy Moeller being investigated for an alleged assault.
"Berea cops were called to the Moeller home at 9pm Saturday in response to a "domestic issue" ~ per Phil Trexler (WKYC)
@AaronWilson_NFL ~ Sources say Andy Moeller alleged domestic incident involves (the) Browns assistant and his wife (a woman at his home)
BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns offensive line coach Andy Moeller is being investigated for allegedly assaulting a female guest at his home, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN Browns reporter Pat McManamon on Monday.
A woman called Berea police over the weekend, alleging Moeller had assaulted her, the sources said. The woman was a guest of Moeller's from Maryland.
By the time police arrived, the woman was unsure about pressing charges. However, police were required to file a report, which was presented to the city prosecutor. He will determine if charges will be filed. Because the alleged assault was not with a live-in partner or spouse, it is classified as assault and not domestic assault. Moeller was not arrested.
Berea police would not release information and referred all questions to Public Information Officer Lt. Joseph Hedinger, who would be in the office "at 7 a.m. (Tuesday) morning." The police officer who answered the phone said she could provide no information or details
Left tackle Joe Thomas said Moeller was in the building Monday morning. "He (Moeller) just told us he was dealing with some personal things and might be gone for a while," Thomas said. "That's all we heard."

I'd be very surprised if alcohol wasn't involved, though.
IIRC, Gary made some wild threats to the LEOs who arrested him back in '95, and I believe it was the booze talking. Alcohol makes some people nuts when they drink too much, and I'd bet that there's a genetic predisposition that way.
Permanent sobriety is the only course for those in that situation.

Ray Farmer, Johnny's elbow, Terence West's attitude and the fact we've blown about10 straight #1 draft choices arent our biggest problems tonight?

Andy is clearly a pretty troubled guy, hopefully if there's anything to these allegations he ends up getting the help he needs.
September 8th, 2015 at 2:47 PM ^
So in the Browns eyes, fraud to the order of millions of dollars is ok, but a not yet completed investigation of assault = immediate suspension.
Got it.
