he's right and Morris does indeed stick around for one more season.
Follow me on Twitter @gfraley05

He's usually on point with these things IIRC.
Katz is usually pretty reliable. The only question is how up-to-date this info is, since it first seemed like Morris was definitely coming back.
That's interesting, from what I've been reading on UMhoops it seems like its a near lock that he stays in the draft.
"And they'll never catch him..."
I assume you are referring to this:
Those close to Morris insist that going through the process as if you are dead set on entering the draft is important. No NBA team wants to waste their time if they think you plan to return to school. That being said, I would be pleasantly surprised if Morris made the decision to turnaround and head back to Ann Arbor at this point.
I didn't read that as Dylan saying Morris leaving is a "near-lock." I think it sounds more like Dylan trying to move his emotional frame; preferring to be pleasantly surprised rather than crushingly disappointed. I did the same thing before M played MSU in bball last season.
What's with this Brandon Wood guy from Valpo joining MSU as a grad student? Is this new news to just me?
The only important brandon wood is the baseball one, and even then its only because he's possibly the worst player to see even semi regular playing time ever.

Since Lucas was kicked off they had an extra scholarship laying around not being used for this year and couldnt sign anyone to use it hence use the Mundy rule and find a player who has eligibility remaining but has completed his undergrad and there you have it, a 1 and done Masters student who plays PG which is a position of need for them.

i do wish Morris well in whatever he decides to do, but would love to watch him for one more season in maize raiment.
Last year's basketball team was just about the perfect palate cleanser after a less than tasty main course (football).
and if I appeared first as an elderly man and not as a young one
If Morris decides to stay in Ann Arbor it would only add to an already great week for us.

my biggest concern is that relative to next year this a pretty weak draft so even if morris does improve his stock next year that may not mean being a higher draft pick and it would be one less season of making bank
Yeah. The draft is fairly weak this year, meaning he may go higher than his stock would usually merit. His jumper is clearly lacking and, in most circumstances, he would be looking at a second-round pick. But with the lack of clear-cut talent at the top of the draft, he may be brought up into the first round.
Not great news for M fans.
Regardless, we will know this week what his plans are. Whatever happens, I just want to know. I hate waiting. Screw patience.
As a sophomore, I don't think you go if you may jump to the first round. With improvement, he will certainly go first round next year. Get better then go get gaurenteed money.
Personally, I think he should stay for another year. Barring injury, I don't think his stock goes down any and he has more time to develop his game. He has all of the tools for a pro, he just needs more development. Assuming he stays on track and continues his development, he is for sure a first-round pick next year.

I wish him luck . It would be great if he would stay another year, but his goal is to play in the NBA.
Depends on who he actually considers to be an "NBA decision maker"
