Sorry to see him go but it looks like he saw the writiing on the wall with Quinn Nordin coming in.  (On his private plane no less.  Or maybe he drove over from the western part of the state.)

This is not about this thread, but I got an alert from my ESPN app. I'm just waiting to see if some silly person creates a thread about the news.

I'd rather not say because it doesn't deserve attention, let alone a thread. Plus, I still want to see if someone makes a thread, only to get down voted into oblivion.

It's not really relevant to Michigan football, but it sort of is. He is waiting to see if some real moron posts a thread, but he's not going to do it. Does not want to post it and come off like an idiot. Instead he'll post the stuff he posted. Seems legit.

Dude, we JUST had Mom intervention on an "I know something you don't know" yesterday (EDIT: it was 2 days ago). It was getting ugly. The best way to conduct a blind experiment is not by telling people you're conducting an experiment. You have invalidated your own results...

We did, and as it turns out, they know even less in Bolivia - regular paper delivery is just now becoming a thing, you see, as is broadband and other basic services. Actually, the printing facility which makes the paper possible was once a laundromat, but ever since the coin-operated washers were moved to the arcade after the fire, it hasn't seen a lot of use and the tenants were willing to let people use the one working dryer.

odd how Hoke gave him a scholarship and whiffed so badly, yet Kenny Allen a walk-on, just crushes it and is money in the bank as a kicker. Allen is very underrated and mentioned in these parts.

on this this year's team was evaluated and recruited by Hoke except Gary (and O'Korn if he ends up starting). His QB strategy was poor because it's a numbers game trying to find a good one and he didn't take nearly enough.  But let's go by position group:

DL - already discussed.  Everyone but Gary on the two deep is a Hoke recruit

LB - McCray is certainly talented if injury prone.  Guy named Peppers you may have heard of.

DB - Errrryone.  Lewis, Stribling, Thomas, Clark, Hill...

QB - not great, Bob.

OL - Cole, Magnusson, Braden, Newsome, Kalis.  Wait was that all starters?  They're not a world beating group. He had some misses here, but this is pretty good.

WR - Chesson, Darboh

TE - Butt, Bunting, etc.

RB - Ok, not amazing here either but this and QB were really the only positional groups he didn't do at least pretty darn good with.

His staff lacked ability to develop talent and put them in the right places/schemes, but the man recruited basically the entire team we're all giddy about right now, not just the DL.  Credit where it's due.

I agree with the DL thinking. Still believe Harbaugh did way better with the talent over Hoke. A lot of misses at WR beyond Darboh and Jehu. Quarterback was a big mistake not taking more. LB is ok - despite including Peppers - but overall depth has been poor. And yes secondary is great. Running game was the worst ever under Hoke. But factor all else in and Hoke was definitely more hit then miss. Otherwise he would still be here.

To use Brian's phrase...."kickers are weird". David was nearly as highly ranked as Nordin although it seemed clear pretty quickly after he arrived that it wasn't going to work out. (More on lack of comments re: David than anything negative.)

IIRC, Allen was also a fairly well regarded punter/kicker coming out of high school, and Hoke recruited him as a PWO. No tee, the speed of the game, the trajectory, the fact that you are basing a lot of it off potential, lots of weirdness with kickers. That's why I think most coaches these days will do one kicker on scholarship and one punter and rely on walk-ons to fill out the depth chart. Lots of good walk-on kickers playing college football.

He was a pretty good baseball prospect. Best SS prospect in Ohio if I recall (which probably puts him at about the #100 SS prospect overall in the country, but still, a solid prospect). So this probably works out better for him and Michigan really.

Is Kenny Allen technically a walk-on? Holy Hell, besides some solid players on D Hoke seemed to strike out almost everywhere else.
