Anderson staying at Stanford

Have to have big balls to use the man who gave you your first real break as leverage for a raise. If you have no interest, then say so. Don't hang on the fence just hoping for more money. Anderson turned it down, understandably, but Marrow and Turley used us for leverage.

If that's the case, you don't tell recruits that a coach is on board.

Don't know who told him, but 2016 recruit Erik Swenson said he was told Turley was the guy.

It'll be interesting to see who he will go after. I wonder if at some point he will give the job to Mattison instead of making him a DL or LB coach.

We have the best head coach in the country. Any additional great hires for his staff are just sauce for the goose.

Brady Hoke was on staff in 1997, and didn't cost us the national championship. Or are you talking about him as HC?
Either way, I trust that JH will hire great assistants. Even if they're not widely known when he hires them.

Yup, as a head coach. He had Funk and the horrible ST coach. "You're only as strong as your weakest link, etc."

Why even have assistant coaches? He's just so great... he can do it all just by himself.
Sometimes I wonder...

The coaches who became stars under JH weren't stars before he found them. If they don't come to Ann Arbor, we should have faith that he'll find new stars.

if we think the rumors and speculation are bad now with an assistant coach search... imagine what twitter will ignite when urban and harbaugh start going head to head during a full recruiting cycle ... we better start learning to just wait until news is actual news

Michigan coaching search is dream come true for other coaches to use us as leverage.

I don't know Durkin's track record, but it would be nice if we can have a DC who not only has a good track record overall, but whose defensive teams have had a record of demonstrated success against the spread (ie. Meyer at Fla or OSU or Oregon).

Not surprised; never felt like he would want to leave for a co-DC position.

It seems Harbaugh has always had a progressive SC coach. No matter where Harbaugh goes there is a strong emphasis on streching. I read a better article than this a couple years ago but couldn't find it: http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424127887324734904578243930799732200
