and these stats count

Submitted by imdeng on

We put up oodles of yards and tonnes of points against Delaware State last year - but it was always taken with an asterisk - lets not count the stats against an FCS team. Well - BGSU is no FCS and we put 65 points and 700 yards of offense on them. This is going to look good on record books. Not to mention - we did this with our backup QBs mostly and we did this on a team that beat Marshall last week - the same Marshall that almost took out WVU.

This one will stand up to the test of time for some time (or until some other team gets Denarded!)

Not to count our chickens before they're hatched but look ahead to next year with the Directional Michigans coming against a team that brings pretty much all of these skill players back, and probably has a bigger role for the Toussaints and hopefully Dee Harts of the world too. Could get 800 yards and 10 TDs, especially if the defense cuts down the other teams ToP. But still, a great performance.

It's pretty cool to think that the two most prolific offensive games, yardage-wise, in U-M history have both occurred under RR - 727 yards against DSU, 721 today.

We had 11 possessions today and scored nine TDs.  That's just  . . . wow.

...Big 10 play. This team will need to really bear down and focus like a laser beam in executing good football fundamentals, especially on the D. If we lose games, it's most likely going to be because the D is just way too porous. That's the thing tha's going to suck. Maybe the D will surprise us but I am digging with the expectation that I will be disappointed in the next couple of months because the D lacks the experience and discipline to stop some of the more well oiled Offenses in the big 10.

I'm not going to get too excited until we get that 6th win.  Two years of dong punches make me flinch when I hear people overlooking teams.  UMass was a reminder not a dong punch.

Talk stats after two wins when we are going bowling.
