And Pryor opens his mouth again...
While maybe not up to the standard of past utterances, still another look into the mind of the Buckeye QB:
Terrelle Pryor on Wisconsin: 'They weren't better than us'
A very frustrated Ohio State football team took the field Saturday, and took out the previous weekend's loss to Wisconsin on a Purdue squad that simply stood no chance.

I banged your mom.
What is that? I was just following your lead and contributing nothing to this board. Carry on with whatever your were trolling about.

I'm an M grad I've delivered a lot of pizzas in my day.
But I agree with the point. This groan is tiresome.

I also said "we beat ourselves with turnovers". Fans of all teams do that. We beat BOTH MSU and Iowa if the turnover battle is just even. The turnovers killed our momentum, and two vs. MSWho happened in the end zone. I'm glad Sparty fans think they 'dominated'.
It doesn't make the losses any better, but there are plenty of positives. Knowing you could win without the turnovers means it can be cleaned up for a win next year. Guarantee Alabama, OSU, and Oklahoma fans are ALL doing this right now.

The failure in my logic. Also, explain how Ohio State isn't a better team than Wisconsin. Explain how Pryor fails when he says OSU would beat Wisconsin 9 of 10.
Ohio State was beaten handily at the line by Wisconsin. It's hard to say what would happen in another game, but to say they'd win 9 of 10 is a leap in logic no matter how you look at it.
Explain how being dominated by MSU for 60 minutes and Iowa for 55 or so minutes means we "beat ourselves."
Sorry, missed the part where we were dominated for 55 minutes against Iowa. You don't get up to 520 yards in 5 minutes. To say we were "dominated" by MSU is also misleading. That was a winnable game for much of the contest, and we certainly weren't dominated for the entire thing.
Explain why Rodriguez apparently now needs until 2012 to contend on the national stage.
All of the shit that went down in the secondary could not have been anticipated when people were making predictions two years into the future.
No one here can convince you whether or not you should support Rodriguez I suppose. That's your decision.
October 24th, 2010 at 11:02 PM ^
But I thought, nay, I was TOLD--Rich Rodriguez wins with less and coaches them up and has Mike Barwis at his side and that we will be a machine.
Turns out he needs a lot of talent, just like everyone elts, eh?
Why should Rodriguez merit all this patience from Michigan Fans?
Were Michigan fans patient with Threet? Sheridan? Obi Ezeh? Will Campbell? Tate Forcier? Scott Shafer?
Why don't those guys all get half a decade to prove how good they might be?
October 24th, 2010 at 11:10 PM ^
Our offense is not full of five stars and is putting up some pretty big numbers. There's a difference between doing "more with less" and doing "everything with nothing." You could put the best defensive coordinator in the mix and this defense wouldn't stop many teams.
Rodriguez should merit patience because he deserves a fair shot at putting things together and getting rid of him now would be an absolute disaster.
Michigan fans weren't patient with Threet because he performed terribly. It wasn't his fault, but the system didn't fit him in the least. Sheridan was in the same situation except not as good as Threet. Ezeh has had years to improve and was just beat out by a sophomore. Tate, as far as I can tell, is still supported by the fan base. Shafer had a very talented set of defensive players and couldn't make it work.
Let's wait until the end of this season before we start making decisions about what will happen in the next few.

You could put the best defensive coordinator in the mix and this defense wouldn't stop many teams.
Come on, saying that means that nobody should be held accountable for what is going on with our defense. How do we know our guys couldn't do better with a better defensive coordinator? Just because Rich Rod says Lombardi couldn't coach these guys? Is there really no such thing as a coach doing more with less talent? This is still Michigan with highly rated defensive recruits, somebody surely could coach these kids better than being on par with Eastern Michigan statistically.
Look at Syracuse now two years after GERG left, they are 5-2 with a win over a ranked West Virginia team, 5 wins being something GERG could not accomplish in one season in his 4 years there. Maybe the guy is just not a good coach, but the point is that change can be a good thing.

Ok, so that was hyperbole. I'm trying to keep myself logical but a little bit of anger slipped through.
We'll see what happens at the end of the year I suppose.

Why would removing Rodriguez be a disaster--or certainly any more of a disaster than his tenure here so far?
Is it because he'd be leaving behind a roster full of guys we stole from Bowling Green and Wyoming? Is it because he has this super-powered "spread offense" in place that looks great against the likes of UMAss and Indiana, but can be controlled by the better teams in the big ten?
Would the next guy ruin UM's bowl streak--oh wait. Nevermind.
OK. Maybe Rodriguez should get a five year extension, because all he needs is "time." And by the way, some of the players UM fans have tossed under the bus have had the same amount, or much less, time to prove themselves as Rodriguez. Yet again, RR gets the free pass because it's all their fault, I guess.
$3 Mill per year, shit the bed, and have an army of apologists who are probably emailing the boss en masse to keep you on. WHAT A COUNTRY!
October 25th, 2010 at 8:22 AM ^
Right, because coaching transitions usually go super smooth.
My point is, we have NO IDEA how these next five games are going to play out. Regardless of how you feel about Rodriguez right now, he's here. Deal with it. Enjoy watching the team. Will you still be complaining if we go 5-0 to end the year and get into a great bowl game and go 11-2 on the season? It's not likely, but let's just wait and see.
I haven't once said that Rodriguez should get a five year extension. I haven't once said that he isn't skating on thin ice. The fact is that he's still the coach here, and I'm going to support him while that's the case and the team is still improving.
Your argument about the fans giving Rodriguez more time than a lot of the players they've thrown under the bus just doesn't make sense. For one, I haven't seen many players thrown under the bus. Two, Rodriguez's success isn't in tied to him putting on 20 pounds and finally figuring out how to wrap up on a tackle. He proved he can coach when he was at WVU (yeah yeah, Big East, blah blah blah).
If Rodriguez's offense was sputtering consistently I'd agree with you, but it's not. They're putting up monster yards and shooting themselves in the foot.
As far as how much he gets paid and whether he's shitting the bed or not, do you really think that David Brandon and Bill Martin haven't gotten more emails asking them to fire RR than to keep him? I have no problem with him making 3 million a year for doing his job 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Coaching a college football team is one of the most stressful jobs in the country.

Okay, sure, Iowa and MSU beat us squarely.
But MSU will be Little Brother till Doomsday, regardless of anything.
