Not quite what I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be more of a serious documentary type show, but no chance after watching the trailer.

It's full on comedy hour. Think Pawn Stars or any reality show with zany characters. But I'll defiantly watch. It looks great!

From what I saw in the trailer, it sort of made me think of "Tanked", which tries to balance the actual fish tank with which they've been tasked in a given episode with the less business-like interactions of the people who work at the place. Those sorts of things can definitely be entertaining if done right, I think, so I will definitely give this show a look when it comes around in July.

yea, I kinda thought it would be more of a serious take on high performance training...but then I forgot Discovery abandoned that educational form LONG LONG ago.

In the meantime...zainy zainy co-workers WWOOOAAAAAH.

Who am I kidding though? I'll watch it.

Does he really sound like Randy "Macho Man" Savage?

Some of the show looks good, some looks way set up (like fat guy stuck in snow in a go-cart). As someone who works in TV, and someone who fits the demo for this show, I wish they didn't dumb it down with antics, but just let the story of the athletes show.

I don't think I could sit through that unless they actually show workouts and get some good clips from the athletes.  Otherwise it looks too much like Orange County Choppers, i.e. stupid.

This basically looks like Pawn Stars mixed with Tanked mixed with Hulk Knows Best. In other words, scripted and 100% manufactured.

Also, they really didn't think through all that company gear emblazoned with "BM."

It's interesting... Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Deadliest Catch the original one of these reality workplace shows?  DC has stood the test of time probably in part because it's not stupid, overexaggerated and obviously scripted (though I do think DC sets up some things).  Instead, I think it's survived because people fell in love with genuine characters who don't seem likely to put up with garbage or cartoonization of their profession.

What are some other ones that began this wave of pseudo-reality TV?  Orange County Choppers and all it's spin-offs are the only others coming to mind.

This is right up my alley, but is it only going to be broadcast locally?  I can't find any information about other than from the link.
