Is major league baseball still around? I thought it died out sometime in the late 1990s (I kid, I kid!). But seriously, I wonder how it's going to survive once the baby boomers and gen xers (like me) start to die off. Millenials don't really follow the sport.

Okay paper tiger calm down. We're all happy you and your friends are unique free thinkers. His post was a little assumptive but the numbers don't lie. There isn't as much interest in the sport as there used to be. Here's a trophy.

The Tigers finished in last place this year and had a higher attendance than in 1984, and in a ballpark with a smaller capacity. They have had 11 straight seasons with over 2,000,000 in attendance - including 4 of those seasons over 3,000,000. In their ENTIRE history prior to these last 11 seasons, they only topped 2,000,000 7 times and 2 of those were 1999 and 2000 (last season at Tiger Stadium and first at Comerica).

Unfortunately if any sport dies out it may be football, due to the head injuries and parents not allowing kids to play. More kids play baseball than football. I don't think baseball is going anywhere.

Go Astros, first playoff game in 10 long painful years.  That and they are a year ahead of plan from what the GM had talked about 3 years ago.

Really hate that the Astros couldn't capitalize on those base runners. That's what has been happening throughout September though and the reason they're even playing this game instead of winning the division.

Astros now lead 3-0 as they plate a run with 2 down in the 7th.

Altuve, who drove in that run with a single, preceeds to immediately steal 2nd.

Lets add some more!
