Amaker Removes Name from BC Opening
It seems our former coach, Tommy Amaker removed his name from consideration from the BC job, though he was never contacted. The job is likely going to Cornell's coach.
Harvard’s Tommy Amaker never even heard from DeFilippo before pulling his name from the ring. The former head man at Michigan and Seton Hall decided to stay in Cambridge instead of taking the journey just south of the Mass. Pike.

Hes really trying to turn Harvard Bball around. I respect it and am always rooting for them
That may be a lifer ivy league hoops coach. He seems to fit in there culturally, and you can look at Princeton's long time coach (Pete Carill) to see how maybe Amaker can fashion himself in his own mind.
Interesting note: I looked on the Princeton bball wiki page to make sure I remebered Pete Carill's name correctly, and who did I find listed as coach of Princeton BBall from 1932-34? One Herbert "Fritz" Crisler. Record at Princeton was 32-11 for a 0.744 winning %.
That may be the basis of a great trivia question:
Name the Hall of Fame college football coaches who have a higher winning percentage as a basketball coach than as a football coach. (career football win% = 0.738, Minn + Princeton + Mich)
It's not a tough call to pull your name out of "consideration" when you're not actually being considered for the job.
I pulled my name out of the USC job consideration when Pete Carroll left
BC got the guy from Cornell.
He pulled his name without being contacted? I've decided that I, too, will pull my name from consideration for the BC job.
