I always loved these guys. So much more entertaining than the current cheerleaders. Great article + slideshow
Alumni Cheerleaders for Homecoming - article in WSJ
yup, these old-timers are fantastic. 75 years old and still doing backflips!
It's all about the Michigan locomotive. Also, consistently great work from the alumni drum majors.
"... most of the girls are a lot bigger now and we all can't walk the next day," said 66-year-old Dale Young, a former cheerleader at Texas Christian.
Let the bad jokes begin!

Seriously, I saw Kimball (the former diving coach) participate in a diving exhibition several years ago when he was already way past his prime. He did some amazing maneuvers for a guy his age. I'm not surprised that he's still going at it.
This guy is the Grand Old Man of Michigan cheerleading.
I'm sorry for the Political Incorrectness, but I liked the days when our cheerleaders were exclusively gymnasts and divers (most of them All-Big Ten). It was one of those things that made us different from other schools.
No mascots; and cheerleders who were actual athletes, doing actual athletic stuff.
We sat behind the family of one of the guys -- his grandsons were about the same age as my son. Really nice people, and the boys were thrilled to see their grandpa on the field.
The alumni are so much more entertaining than the current crop of cheerleaders. They're out there having fun and enjoying themselves. The current cheerleaders just seem to sort of be there. Most of the time, they don't even do backflips for the score in the south endzone. Lame.
Pretty cool article. Michigan seems to get a lot of attention in the WSJ these days. In the NYT too for that matter.
Not so much our rivals. Then again we are the leaders and best, and known the world over for it.
