We should have kept RR and fired Brandon. This is ridiculous. I have never heard of a name brand team being PUBLICLY rebuffed by so many potential coaching candidates. First JH, now LM.

I really hope that Brandon hasn't been working on one option at a time.

At this point, I really want him to give Hoke a chance - he actually wants to come, as opposed to JH and LM who used Michigan's interest to obtain better deals from others. Sorry, if this really was LM's dream job, as people always say (same for Harbaugh), then he should have accepted. Or, if he were not going to accept at all, he shouldn't have publicly spoken about interviewing.

I cosign this 100%...worse than the resulting choice of HC, the embarrassment of swinging and missing is soul crushing. While Classic Hoke may be a great HC ultimately, that won't be known for years. Right now perception is reality...we are a declining program without the prestige we thought (hoped) we had.

Fire DB.

Good gosh, how quickly the tide turns on this board. So what. So we missed out on a coach that may or may not have even been offered a job. So we missed out on a guy with questionable clock management skills and that sorely lacks scruples in player relations. We don't know anything that is going on with this search. For all of you RR lovers, I'm surprised you're not taking his advice and "getting a life." There is more to U of M than Brandon flying around the country trying to gauge interests and ask people for their insights. There is also more to this world than to call for an AD's job after a coaching search that, by all indications, he is taking his time with. OMG, we miss out on a 4 star recruit from BFE - BIG DEAL. I am sure there is more to the story than we all can speculate. Brandon knows what he is doing, relax. As for the search, let's see what we have learned: 1) Harbaugh dreamed of going to the NFL, and earned his right to choose to pursue his dream 2) Les Miles was considered by all to have a spot at the table if Harbaugh pursued his dreams, but, if you paid any attention to Les you heard him promise his players and school that he would be back next season - looking back, that wasn't coach speak. Maybe he does honor his word. 3) Brady Hoke has professed his undying love for U of M and that he would take this job in a moment's notice. Don't we want someone who WANTS to be here, who can put together an amazing staff of coordinators, and win us 9-13 games per year? Sounds pretty good to me. Lloyd lite all you want, but, I won't complain. My hat has always been in the Hoke basket. IMO, we all just need to let the rest of the process unfold. Who knows. Maybe Brandon left last night because he knew that Les was committed to LSU, so, he just pinged him about Hoke and other topics. The 4pm meeting was also called before Les and Brandon met. Maybe Brandon already knew something? Let's just enjoy being M fans/almuni. Now, do as I do and:

... I just can't imagine how any of what's transpiring is any better than keeping RR for one more year. Now we're down to Hoke? Is this how we move forward?

I will support whoever the coach is. I will still be the lone screaming soul in my small town in Northern Canada when Michigan scores a touchdown, and will still mourn every loss. But I don't like where this is going at all, compared to thinking we might have been close to a great season next fall. Now we'll just wonder what if....

So let me get this straight, you believe that by keeping RR, turning the calendar over one year resulting in our freshmen starters being sophmores, and getting back Woolfolk would result in winning games against the good teams that we lost to by 20+ this year?

Because that's all that was really going to change from this year to next...

I think this is what happens when the program goes into the tank not something that is moving forward. This is embarrassing. Dave Brandon should have to answer for this absolute fiasco but he won't because he is one of Bo's guys. So what. I loved Bo and got to watch great teams play during my stay but this is 20 years later. Would you buy a 25 year old car? Hell no. Look at the teams wining national championships, if we go back to 3 yards and a cloud of dust we are done.

All right, I am officially in "This is a complete fiasco" territory. Good grief.

My take: we didn't want Miles (because of the various mystery controversies associated with him), but went through the motions so we could play the "See? We tried this time!" card.

All my nerves have been so battered I no longer feel pain. I am at peace with the world.

If Brandon names 12-year-old Susie from Sterling Heights as the next coach, I will wish her well. I am no longer concerned with this.

I think we settled last time and look what happened. DB can't panic and just give it to Hoke just because. He may be the right guy, but let's just step back. I think many of us felt a little slimy pushing for Les, even though he wins in the SEC...now I don't have to scrub harder in the shower.

We all need some foooosraba....say it with me.....fooosraba, fooosraba....deep breath...foosraba.

1. Harbaugh to NFL

2. Fitzgerald says no to even talking

3. Patterson signs extension

4. Peterson staying at Boise

5. Missouri coach won't even talk to us

6. Miles, after all that crap, stays at LSU

How could this possibly get any worse?

Word was that if offered Miles would accept which leads me to conclude that Miles wasn't offered which leads me to ask why? Did Lloyd torpedo this again?

I was firmly in DB's corner but whiffing on Harbaugh and Miles is a major fail.

For this, I have to say I am glad we did not sell out the integrity of the program and settle on a 4th choice Les Miles as our coach.

Three cheers for character.

Good luck Brandon, anyone else think we are getting a collective 'no thanks' from the coaching community at large because of all the BS that is involved with coaching here?

Fire Brandon. He's totally screwed up the search. BRADY HOKE WOULD NOT EVEN BE DISCUSSED IF HE DIDN'T HAVE MICHIGAN TIES. MICHIGAN TIES DO NOT MAKE UP FOR A PROVEN RECORD.

I'm done with this shit. Call me when we have a winning coach (may take 5 years).

This is exactly how I feel. Brady Hokes resume is shit if you ask me. He isnt even above .500 on his career.

Fuck him and fuck Dave Brandon if he hires him. I'm reserving judgement until he actually hires someone, but if its Hoke I'm done with him.

David Brandon have this job? It's becoming clear that he has no idea what he's doing. I can't wait to see what Hoke is gonna do with all our current "Basketball on Grass" players.
