All-Time Fail Stadium Playlist
As thing seem to be a bit shaky lately, I decided to take a diversionary approach to a forum topic.
Brian showed so much interest in fey music at Kinnick, it made me think what playlist could actually cause a run on Ann Arbor Pitchfork & Torch. I thought about a few different scenarios, coming out of the tunnel, circle of death and just general music fill to get the crowd going. I tried to span a few generations (have to appeal to the entire audience you know) to come up with my All-Time Fail Stadium Playlist.
Please add your own.
“Get this Party Started P!nk- Tunnel (We are coming out!)
“Hanging Tough” New Kids on the Block- Circle of Death (Hang tough guys!)
“Wake me up before you go go” Wham!- Intermission (Dance in your seats!)
“Party in the USA” Miley Cyrus- Intermission (Party in the Big House! Woooo!)

or we could blast "I Got a Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas every 5 minutes like Iowa does. That was really cool and in now way lame or annoying.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:17 PM ^
I totally agree. I still cringe every time I hear that song because of that night in Iowa.
October 28th, 2009 at 2:44 PM ^
And that song sucked before

"Party in the USA" would cause all of the girls in the stadium to dance and sing.
And it would cause all the men to jump over the edge of the bowl.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:09 PM ^
...because I have dignity!
Also, I judge men who can sing along to that "song." I've seen it happen, it's ugly.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:37 PM ^
The fact that you're getting negged confuses me. Do we have closet mgoblog Miley fans?
October 27th, 2009 at 10:59 PM ^
definitely not a Nashville party
October 27th, 2009 at 11:25 PM ^
Yes, and they do not approve of mgolesbians.

My thread of all Party in the USA lyrics was deleted a few weeks ago :(

Not piped in, but somehow "Thriller" gets voted as the song to be played by the band every week, even though the crowd boos when it's announced. I would say this fail has already happened
October 27th, 2009 at 10:03 PM ^
I live right near Elbel Field, and they practice Thriller every day, it seems like. And, it also seems like the band plays every song on the vote list regardless of if it "wins" the vote.
October 27th, 2009 at 11:04 PM ^
The "Approaching Storm" totally out-Thrillers us in every way imaginable.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:10 PM ^
It's not a party without the Chicken Dance!
Ack, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little typing that. Never mind.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:26 AM ^
The Chicken Dance is one of the 257849 reasons I want to elope when I get married.
October 28th, 2009 at 9:06 AM ^
Mexican Hat Dance is a far better choice.

What a depressing video
Never actually listened to the lyrics before, but it makes me wonder how much money Jay Z got for having his named dropped in there
October 27th, 2009 at 11:29 PM ^
Are those three Asian girls Miley's friends from Nashville? Are they in California with her too? Or are they just from California? Why does Miley not have other friends from different races? Why are random men flipping off of the truck she is standing on? Where did that American flag come from? Is this why people from other countries hate us?
This video raises far more questions than answers.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:38 AM ^
I can't answer any of your questions save for the last one, to which: yes.
October 28th, 2009 at 12:10 AM ^
say I have never knowing listened to a Miley Cyrus song til now. Maybe it's just me or the fact that I only listened to 1:30 of the it but I don't understand what the hell the point of the song is. She moved from Nashville to LA and was homesick but then hearing a Jay-Z song made her feel at home?
I even looked up the lyrics just to make sure I was hearing what I thought I was hearing. She then goes on to say that girls in stilettos at the club are giving her bad looks because shes wear boots and she beings to feel homesick again until she hears a Britney (I assume Britney Spears)song and then she feels ok again. Is Britney not wearing stilettos in all vag shots while when she's out clubbin' it up?
Maybe I'm over analyzing a Miley Cyrus (is that even possible?) song but that shit was terrible. More power to her if she's getting rich off this shit.

Look, you're not 12 years old. You're not meant to get it.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:15 PM ^
By "Jitterbug" do you mean "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"?
October 27th, 2009 at 10:31 PM ^
Will edit. Could only think of that annoying start.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:28 PM ^
How about we get the band to play some Coldplay?
October 27th, 2009 at 10:37 PM ^
The worst one by far is the Gwen Stefani abortion of a song that goes, "woohoo yeehoo". They play that a few times then stop it expecting the crowd to follow through with a gay ass, "woohoo yeehoo"
October 27th, 2009 at 10:38 PM ^
...you got it!
I make it rain, brah

B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
October 28th, 2009 at 8:16 AM ^
My wife thought that the song was spelling out "B-A-NA-NA-NA". I made fun of her for it. Then I got kneed in the groin in bed. True Story.
October 28th, 2009 at 9:42 AM ^
I've been in stores where that shit comes on over their PA and I cannot believe the number of people I hear singing along. Of both genders, wide range of ages. It's appalling, but maybe their expectations aren't that far off.
October 27th, 2009 at 10:46 PM ^
This song has to make it onto the all-time-fail playlist
"Talk to the car while the car talk back"
"My old school costs more than your new school"

This thread has multiple posts about Miley Cyrus, and neither Dex nor Chitown has shown up? I'm surprised and disappointed.
Second, "my gang" by rascall flats. I almost go into fits of homicidal rage when I hear it relaxing with friends, throw in a touch of alcohol, no smoking for a few hours, and a football game, it might cause my brain to explode.

Any song that made the "Jock Jams" (or is it "Jamz"?) CD.
October 28th, 2009 at 8:36 AM ^
It's 1993, Wk 1 and I'm at the Silverdome watching Lions pregame. We're playing the Atlanta Falcons with Neon Deion. The pregame music starts piping in "Too Legit to Quit". NEVERMIND the song is the anthem of the Falcons from the previous season (Deion was in the video, remember?). Another reasons the Lions will never win-- we'd play Hail to the Redskins during a Washington / Lions playoff game if we could.
October 28th, 2009 at 3:52 PM ^
and started with the intro. Or Enter Sandman which basically got NO response and it was played again the next week.

The Final Countdown.
Can't believe I saw those guys in concert when that song first came out. And can't believe places still play it now.
