The All Meta, All Consuming, All Controversy Open Thread

Submitted by wolverine1987 on

I'm mad. I'm also worried. And then again I'm concerned. Oh, and I'm bored. I have many questions. But much more than that, I have opinions, oh yes, and I must debate and express them. But is there a place that exists to satisfy this existential longing, that can satisfy this deep seated ennui? Where I can slam others, and express that I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS! Yes, yes there is, the all controversy open thread. Your one stop thread for all the major issues of our internet time.

I will start, because I can hardly wait to ask these questions and finally state these opinions:

It is OBVIOUS that Denard must start. Magnus. Devin Gardner has to redshirt or the season is LOST. If it's not lost already, because did you guys know that a walk-on fullback is starting at Linebacker? What is happening with the team? What is the status of Jack Kennedy? WLA.

Why are the mods deleting my posts? McFarlin. BTW, this box I'm typing in does not satisfy my sense of style either. Where is the update? And Goddamn, can someone give me the status of the point system?

Our secondary, man, it  will be BAD. As is moving the OSU game. I hope the band is audible by then because I want to hear them play RAWK. In maize uniforms of course. It's time for a change. A change in Tate Forcier's work habits. With that, we might win 8 games.

But will 8 wins save RR's job? I'll bet we wouldn't talking about this if he only would have SLOWLY transitioned to the spread. Because I like QB's who only drop back, preferably without MOXIE. Or dreads. Magnus.

Finally, please no more three star recruits. The Freep. And if someone doesn't stop posting duplicate thread topics, I'm gonna go BESERK.

we have no starting running back? Clearly, that means we're doomed because of the offensive line which has to be a strength this year, unless Molk gets hurt, in which case the injury bug is clearly rampant and we can expect Mike Martin to go down too, which would force us to rotate the whole defensive line and possibly move somebody from the O-line, and then we'd have to bring in a backup, which makes you wonder how Taylor Lewan is playing, and if we're big enough for the Big 10, or are Will Campbell and Richard Ash too big and will they fail to keep their weight under control because of holdover philosophies from Gittelson which Barwis has been unable to get rid of.

...absolutely sucked on the endless sea & anchor detail into and out of Quebec City we did on my first ship.  When I did the Panama Canal, I was the ship's navigator, so I was on the bridge the entire time.  Long, but worth it for the experience.  Going through the Saint Lawrence Seaway would be quite a chore, but it would be pretty cool to sail up the Detroit River.

Too bad we don't do Great Lakes cruises anymore.  Maybe they'll bring them back when we get LCS's in numbers into the fleet.

Worst one we did was Bosphorus Straights on the way in and out  to get side swiped by the Krivak:

Ah the good old days ... it was just UNACCEPTABLE that we were passing so close to the Crimean, and our bosun thought it was UNACCEPTABLE what they did to his painwork!

Yeah, that's what those commie bastards were thinking. They actually slammed into us twice. We just put the pedal to the metal though, and they couldn't keep up. They got an earful of colorful American dialect as they scraped down our side.

Their anchor (which they had partially lowered to cause more damage) actually broke off its chain, fell onto our fantail, teetered back and forth for a few seconds, then tumbled into the drink. Oh what a trophy that would have been.

That was an amazing time though, two years later US ships were making port visits in Sevastopol. A few years after that, our captain and the Russian captain met at a diplomatic function.

I'm worried and concerned too. I went to BWW to watch some hitting, all they had on was two chicks in a Bellatore cage match, and baseball highlights, that's how bad it is.  The two chicks were pretty fun to watch, I saw my first "69" choke hold. This week is going to drag.
