Alas, poor pig, we knew him well.
That'll do, Pig. That'll do...
Good job, Dubs. Now with 100% more embed:
Dusty in here...
to do with this.
Unless there is some kind of local Ann Arbor ordinance restricting the keeping of livestock, potbelly pigs are kept as normal pets around the state. I'd sooner a dog but I live in a very suburban (far from farm area) part of Detroit and I have a neighbor I see walking their pig in the morning. Not exactly normal but not unheard of. Not like they had a freaking waterbuffalo living with them.
Hopefully, this link works (LINK), otherwise, just drill down to Title IX, Chapter 107 of the municipal code for animal regulations in Ann Arbor.
9.38.1 reads: "No person shall keep or house any animals or domestic fowl within the City except dogs, cats, rabbits, canaries or small animals commonly classified as pets which are customarily kept or housed inside dwellings as household pets."
So, I assume potbelly pigs are OK. Of course, 9.38.4 basically says that nothing is stopping someone from complaining anyway.
Can't we solve this by getting the softball team to adopt a pig too?
Someone say "Waterbuffalo?"
lol, i watched this episode earlier this week
Like, is he actually on a farm? Or is this a 'he actually died and Mom tells you he's on a farm'?
if that clears anything up:
I always wondered what happened to Chris "Big Black" Boykin after Rob & Big. I guess we have found him.
DO WORK SON!
mgopoints back so you can have ALL of the points.
You win. I give up.
That's weird, because I actually had a cat that my Mom had to take to a farm when I was 9 (my Mom got pregnant and said the cat would scratch out the babies' eyes). What exactly are you telling me?
They slaughtered him?
The mystery of Denard's cut hand is solved.
I'm so confused...
Odds that Lewan ate him in a horrible, delicious sleepwalking incident?
pork sushi....delicious... I'll bet Lewan and Kalis wrestled for the back ribs.
Holy hell, they ate the pig.
This just "coincidentally" clears up a spot for Jamarco Jones. Hmm...
HEY! We don't recruit like that at Michigan. That's SEC stuff!!! ...especilly in TN....mmmmm...dry rub...
I read that title and thought, PIG ROAST. After seeing the tweet... I still think that.
NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. (Genetically born to be meat eaters, and all.)
who will eat the carrots from the belly button now?
I love that pig.
NOT DR HAMLET
THIS IS A SAD DAY
I am reading this as a real farm where Dr. Hamlet III can be with his own kind, rather than the euphamistic farm up north. In either case, I hope he is well!
But real pig farms, unlike, say real dog farms, end up with the pig getting killed anyway.
It is a dark day...here's hoping for a commemorative patch on the 2013 football jeresys. Never forget
New background for the offseason
there was ever am image that deserved to get more than (5 normal) upvotes, this would be it.
old point system NOW!!!
Obviously this is my new favorite thing...thank you sir, oh so very much
Nice. Lewan should wear this patch this year.
(Score: 5,000 Normal)
That was the best week and a half of Dr. Hamlet’s life.
I guess Brady Hoke got to the third one...
Either the landlord stepped in, or the boys craved fresh bacon. Either way, au revoir HAMlet.
I still want to know what happened to the first two Dr. Hamlets. A similar fate?
plenty of apartments have strict no-pet policies, and many that allow pets have specific guidelines as to what kind of pets are allowable.
Or maybe they discovered that Dr. Hamlet wasn't housetrained and wasn't interested in learning.
I knew it would only be a matter of time before Dr. Hamlet would have to leave. I figured it would cause too much media. What a blow to the team!!! joking of course.. Hope the pig loves the new farm.
Barbecue at the Big House?
Dr. Hamlet the 4th
Hey, now. I loved Dr. Hamlet III as much as anyone, but if he let his guard down for even a second...
This whole thread reminds me of The Simpsons episode when Homer gets a pet Lobster and then eats it.
Pinchy would've loved this! Pinchy!! *sob* Man that's good!
I suspect a landlord had something to do with this...
but what kind of a landlord has the stones to tell Lewan he has to get rid of his pet?
Lewan is one of the nicest, goofiest kids you will ever meet away from the field.
BBQ at the Big House is coming up...
The next time my neighbors get all judgmental with me for cooking up my chocolate labs. Man are they tender!
they ARE chocolate.
one of my favorite cartoons.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear or 2.
Ugh hate to see attrition, but this does open up another scholarship spot for 2014. DHIII had some nice pad level and size, but speed and feet quickness were areas of concern. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.
Unexpected and unfortunate news came in today about the departure of Dr. Hamlet III. The only evidence we have so far is from Taylor Lewan's twitter account so the exact details aren't clear, but we have been made aware that city ordinances may conflict with scholarships for barn animals.
While this clears out a spot for the 2014 class, we can only hope a NCAA overrule will return Dr. Hamlet III to his real home as a Michigan Man(BallPig).
More after whatever
instead of kittens (should kittens become necessary)
That pig lasted about as long as Drake Harris' committment to MSU.
Sleep well sweet porcine.
It was crazy.
it's actually "Horatio", not "well" as the last word to the phrase.
well, and also it's about Yorick, anyway...
*reconsiders my life*
I should have considered my audience. If I had used it a bit more literally, I could have had Hamlet speaking to or about Dr. Hamlet III!
I prefer this ending instead
Does this merit a "Goodbye" post?
My vegan, animal loving wife and I just got our first house last week. She's wanted to keep pot-belly pigs, but we had trouble finding a place because of zoning. The pig raising books and websites we've looked at all say to check your local zoning laws first. Our experience in rural PA was that pigs were typically in a grey zone, sometimes pets (dogs, cats) and sometimes farm animals (cows, horses, sheep), and sometime it depended on how many pot-belly pigs you had (>2 = farm animals, for zoning purposes). Some fancy neighborhoods allowed up to 2 pigs, and some more rural areas didn't; it was almost random. But we found a small farmette in a sort of MadMax-type area that doesn't have any rules at all, so we can get all the pigs, sheep, goats, etc we want. (Our new neighbor has chickens, goats, 2 sheep, a peacock, and an alpaca).
if that poodle-faced paca end's up roasting on someone's grill so I can LOL.
I'll miss the pig though.
you can expect to see your animals on a roasting spit just down the road pretty soon.
We are a little worried about pig-rustling/roasting. Hopefully it'll be more of a Beyond Thunderdome situation, with Tina Turner and MasterBlaster around to help manage the pig poop shovelers.
a delay at Metro across from 3 or 4 alpaca ranchers. As I recall they were homeward bound from an auction. I learned a few things that trip, among them the fact that those guys are serious about alpacas, as well as how expensive a prime alpaca can be.
I can't believe your wife keeps animals and then teases them by eating their food. Diabolical!
Put up 4 fences and a stable to hold 4 animals?
A classic. If I could give you a +1 I would!
How does this hurt our APR?
Goes the APR score.
At least they got a delicious animal as a pet, and not, say, a parakeet.
"I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look Down on us. But pigs treat us as equals." -Winston Churchill
He heard that a pig saved the lives of a family by alerting them there was a fire. When the reported interviewed the family, the family raved about the pig. When the pig ran around the corner of the house and the reporter saw him, the reporter exclaimed "That pigs only got three legs". The farmer replied "Well you don't eat a pig that's that valuable all at once".
Good luck Hamlet.
(there'ssuppossed to be a pigs in space jpg, but it won't load, dammit)
Doctor Hamlet, Da'shawn Hand.
Coincidence? I think so!!
