tUOS is OSU

Who cares? Michigan will have the toughest schedule ever in 2012 adding Alabama. If Iowa, MSU, Nebraska KEEP getting better every year, and tUOS is still a top dog.. If we still got ND on the schedule and THEY improve... thats 6 BIGGG games in one season. If we come out alive... i dono what kind of things ill do.

I didn't even read the article - I didn't even let the text on the page load. But I saw Atlanta in 2013-2014 in the page title. Woooooooo!!! If that is factually accurate. So awesome. Party at my place!

Edit. Aaaand...that is why you let the text load. Fail. You are still welcome to come party  though.

6 home games? We must really be getting paid to play in this.

2012 OOC looks to be brutal if Kelly turns ND into a good/great team. Bring it on!

Yeah but USC probably saw that game as a win, and Alabama probably sees MSU as a win as well, it is not quite the same as scheduling a game against an "equal" opponent. And, yes USC did schedule OSU, I just think that argument is a little bit apples to oranges.

2012 is turning into a huge year in regards to the national perception of this team and the conference. It will be a great time down in Texas at Jerry World if 2011 is awesome and 2010 shapes up to high marks

2010 - 10-3 with bowl win 2011 - National Championship contention 2012 - Look out!!!

We can be optimistic right?

Why pick a state where there is relatively little interest in either program?  Why not a place with local fan bases, like the Orange Bowl (rematch!), Solider Field, the Rose Bowl, or somewhere else historic for the programs?

That being said, this is the biggest non-conference game Michigan has scheduled since, well, maybe ever.  I suppose if this is the only compromise under which the teams would agree, we have to do it, but still.

Arlington is smack down in the middle of Dallas.  We have a sizeable following in Texas, much like anywhere.  But I think it helps in recruiting Texas players more than anything.  A "bowl game" outside of bowl season.

A little background:  I've been traveling with same group every year to a different Michigan road game.  A couple of years ago, we finished the entire B10 road circuit after visiting all of the other ten campuses.   So in 2009 we went back to A2 and luckily picked the Indiana game, our only conference victory.  This year we struck gold in South Bend.   Next year is pretty grim for road games, so the heavy lean at this point is to go back to A2 to see our first night game vs. ND.

For 2012, we are pretty much set on seeing the first ever game in Lincoln against the B10's newest conference member.

But now comes this and I have to confess I'm a little torn.  The chance to play a recent national champion, the chance to test our mettle against an SEC team, the chance to beat Saban, and the chance to see a game in Cowboys Stadium.

I think @Nebraska is the right call here but would be interested to hear others opinions either way.   Which game would you go to?

There can only be one *official* road trip with my crew each year and while my wife would have no problem with me going to two games--she totally gets this Michigan affliction--there's no way we'd get the whole group out to two games.

To your point, however, I would strongly consider going to both games even if it's not the whole group for one or an officially sanctioned road trip.

And let's be honest, this is a very, very good "problem" to have.

with the group of guys I tailgate with.  We also try to hit a road game every year.  For 2012, we agreed that we'll be going to Arlington.

Seeing Michigan play in Lincoln would be historic, no doubt.  However, it is going to be damn near impossible to get tickets.  That will not be the case for the Bama game.  In fact, I will not be surprised if the option to buy a ticket is offered to season ticket holders.  Also, the Lincoln road trip will be an option every other year.  Bama in Arlington is a one time thing.

UM vs Bama in Arlington would be great.  I guess they'll have to figure out how to split concessions. I just thought of something, you might be able to buy a beer at the game, for $12.00, of course.

That was going to be my comment - definitely pick the game in Texas Stadium. It'll be like watching the CCHA playoffs last year at the Joe and being able to pound beers, only not in Detroit (although I hear Dallas isn't much to speak of, either). That is the real once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I do the same thing with my buddies. One roadie per season. I'd vote for Lincoln, by a mile. That's a real football/B10 atmosphere. Historic. Dallas is just a big, generic city in sweltering Texas. No atmosphere whatsoever. And, if you're talking budget, Dallas is a much more expensive location to visit.
