Alabama now down two defensive backs in 2 days, after Travell Dixon departed for "personal reasons" and Jarrick Williams tore his ACL

Williams is going to be out for the season following this injury. Hopefully he's able to make a full recovery.

After a quick search, he was a consensus 4 star safety who was going into his junior year, and had played the past two years as a backup and on special teams. I don't think he would have gotten much playing time this year on defense just by looking at Bama's depth chart as he didn't crack the two deep at either safety spot.

A couple projections that I had seen would have had Williams as a second-string strong safety, but even so, you have to feel bad for any kid whose season ends before it begins due to injury. Hopefully, he recovers fully and is back at it next year.

Probably a good indication of what Bama fall camp is like. Likely won't be the last player on the tide roster to get dinged before Sept. 1st rolls around

The whole purpose of this OP was to say "Hey, look, some guys on Alabama are getting hurt, so maybe we'll have a better chance to win!"  Otherwise, why the focus on a team we just happen to be opening the season with?   Lots of players on lots of teams have suffered injuries that have knocked them out for the season already, without them being featured here.

We should be focusing on whether our players are doing well, not on other team's misfortunes.  And even if we weren't, these injuries are to irrelevant players as far as Alabama vs us is concerned.  They weren't starters or even that close, and we will not even notice their absence.
