Alabama 2012: OC McElwain to Colorado State

Even though we still have a VT team to handle interesting to see that the Alabama OC Jim McElwain has just been named the next HC at thee Colorado State University. A long way off but I'm already pumped about next year!!

I kind of got the impression that Lacy wasn't going to be their feature back.  I thought he got a lot of junk time yardage in both his freshman and sophomore season.  I'm mostly basing this on what I read from Bama people who were totally enamored by Hart and calling him their next big-time back, and expecting him to get a significant amount of carries before the injury.  Lacy seemed more like an afterthought.  But perhaps I'm wrong

There are somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 D-1 recruits a year.  Dee Hart may end up gaining a lot of yards at Bama, but the loss of one recruit out of that many isn't going to hurt the University of Michigan.  Ultimately, he's just another recruit who went somewhere else.

I'll take someone who wants to play at the University of Michigan over someone who doesn't any day of the week.

Eh, Alabama isn't known for their offense as much as their D, but they are 30th in the nation in total O (Michigan is 34, Clemson is 29, Arkansas is 27, and ND is 33).  So not bad company.  How would we feel if we lost Borges.  It may not hurt them too much, but it ain't gonna help them probably.  Also, keep in mind that Saban is straight up a defensive mind, thus losing an effective o-coordinator may hurt them a bit more because the transition may not be as smooth.
