Al Borges hired as OC at San Jose State
Al Borges landed a job as the OC at San Jose State:
and Dan Ferrigno will be the special teams and TE coach.
___
Edit: Didn't realize this was on the board already, so go ahead and delete. Or maybe I should add, "It's official..." And with Greg Robinson as the DC, well...

since his hiring seemed to be triggered by Jimmy Daughtery leaving for a job here. This is real news.

Is it some kind of holiday for ex-Michigan assistants? Glad to see so many landing on their feet. It will also be interesting to see what Borges calls without having David Brandon telling him what to do in the film room.

This is the school Tate Forcier attended back in 2012 for a short time.

Thanks for posting, sadeto.

So I guess Al does know the way to San Jose. Good for him.

Stop that. I'm prone to getting ear worms based on songs titles I recognize! :-)
Crap ... there it is ... "Do you know the way to San Jose? Doo, doo, do-do, do do do-do doo ..."

The best way to get a song out of your head is to think of "Private Dancer" by Tina Turner.

I love this song and this live performance was awesome....

Dan Ferrigno will be the special teams and TE coach.
February 6th, 2015 at 12:13 PM ^
The internet reports that Dan Ferigno has had another finger surgically grafted onto his hand, so his counting skills should be vastly improved.

Nice to see three previous Michigan coaches get gigs elsewhere (I believe DeBord was confirmed at UT OC today as well). I hope they both do well and our current coaches do better.

So what has transpired is that we don't have Al Borges coaching our quarterbacks anymore. We have Jim Harbaugh.
I'm okay with that.

Borges appeared to turn in good gameplans in a few notable games for us. Good luck to him and San Jose State University.

SJSU is like one game away from a program 0.500 record. Borges running the offense and GERG running the defense you say?
SJSU has the worst OC, DC, and ST coach in Michigan University* history.
I'm trying to think of something clever to say, but there just aren't any words...

I think Shafer's problem was with Rich Rod's insistance on a 3 3 5 without the proper personnel

How was Borges worse than Nussmeier? (Based on what they each did at Michigan, I mean.)

Probably because Borges created the mess that Nussmeier inherited.
February 6th, 2015 at 12:38 PM ^
Oh, what if Charlie Weis were to sign on at SJSU as an offensive analyst?
February 6th, 2015 at 12:42 PM ^
Our scoring plummeted from 32.2 ppg in 2013 to 20.9 in 2014. That was with a 5th-year senior at QB. Nuss may have inherited a mess, but he made it messier still.
February 6th, 2015 at 5:17 PM ^
With Borges you never knew if you'd score 40 or 14. It was usually one or the other
With Nuss at least we knew it would just always be 14

How about 41 against Ohio State? 41 against Notre Dame?
February 6th, 2015 at 12:35 PM ^
The internet reports that Gene Bleymaier, the formerly highly regarded Athletic Director of San Jose State University, is under investigation for reportedly taking funds from Fresno State to intentionally sabatoge the SJSU football team.

New AD you say?
February 6th, 2015 at 12:44 PM ^
But it made me laugh.

There is nothing remotely attractive about that man.
Those eyes are like two piss holes in the snow....
February 6th, 2015 at 12:42 PM ^
But this does inspire a new name for the San Jose State defense. With apologies to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the SJSU defense is now going to be known as the "Water Curtain".

My farts indicate I had bacon and eggs for breakfast
HOWEVER my farts are lying through their teeth, as I had a half of a 5th of Popov Vodka for breakfast.
stupid farts

I don't know any SJSU fans. But If I did, today would be the day to hand out whiskey and candy.

Pretty sure UAB is gonna have a better season than this shit show...

Obligatory Gerg gif.
February 6th, 2015 at 1:04 PM ^
That's not how you fist pump GERG...
February 6th, 2015 at 1:55 PM ^
he's trying to punch himself in the nuts with the second movement. Four years ago I would have encouraged him to do so. Now...serenity.
