Just talked to Garmon. He’s gone.
He's a believer.
But hopefully not to Iowa St, Indiana, Illinois or Idaho…
How long until AIRBHG is used as a recruiting tool against Iowa?
I heard Jerry Kill was spotted walking into a recruits house wearing the AIRBHG T-shirt.
Thing is, I actually believe that.
Rittenberg referenced it in ESPN's article about the transfer. It was actually smart of him to leave before AIRBHG gets him, too.
I don't believe in curses, but I do believe in trends and probabilities. There is something flawed in that program.
at this point it's just laughable
It's past that. To where I don't know.
good for that young man....got out with all his ligaments in tact (for the most part). AIRBHG is Ruthless...will they ever have a good running back again?
You can't just leave and expect everything to be better...
at Iowa with rbs???
Hm, I do not know. It does seem kind of weird that many Iowa RBs get injured, arrested, or transfer. It is almost like there is a god that is angry that hates Iowa running backs.
Yes, there is no place on this board for religion and such things, please keep that to yourself.
To answer your question - I don't know if it has a name, but I'm sure it's a fucking democrat.
I find it much more likely that AIRBHG would belong to a ruthlessly-efficient but malignantly-inclined political party than a well-meaning but frustratingly ineffective one.
I like your style, EGD.
...that there really ought to be an elegant acronym of some kind. GTIATHIRB?
Garmon was a guy I really liked coming out of high school. Too bad it didn't work out for him.
I always read it as AIRBAG.
...and now I do...thanks
I ways read it as AIRHAG. Which I find pretty funny.
the wrath of AIRBHG knows no bounds.
Certainly can't blame Garmon for this call. He clearly knows the score, and is trying to get out of Iowa before permanent damage is done.
I just always figured Ferentz ran his RB through a knee high dong forest for the duration of practice.
This should have gone into the posbang thread, because it would've had a serious chance at winning.
Garmon wanted playing time and was stuck way down the depth charts.
Iowa running back depth chart is an oxymoron.
I believe the correct phasing you're looking for is "Garmon wanted playing time in an offense that is not equivalent to what he leaves in the toilet bowl each morning, and was stuck in such an offense that was equivalent to what he leaves in the toilet bowl each monrning."
Iowa has a depth chart at running back?
To try and protect his players, Ferentz just writes random names down on it--and then unfortunate things keep happening to people in Iowa City with names like "John Doe" and "Joe Smith."
Looks a little something like this...
"Running backs leave Iowa and they either succeed or they fall off the face of the earth. However, the only thing that remains common is that Iowa can’t keep them to save their lives." - RantSports article
It seems pretty clear, based on a decade of data collection that, once touched by the Hawkeye, you take your chances wherever you go if you're an RB. Garmon is surely embarking on a perilous life quest. Garmon should perhaps see himself as lucky that AIRBHG only planted in his mind the idea to transfer and seek fortunes elsewhere...for the time being anyway.
That being said, he is pretty talented and looked good in limited action but ended up behind Weisman and Bullock, so I wonder if it is a playing time issue or a foreseen lack thereof.
"You guys tell me, but I don't think Garmon really fit the zone scheme". Really? I don't think beggers can be choosers at this point.
Iowa needs to pull a Constanza and start doing the opposite of what they normally do with RBs. Only then will they build decent depth.
But they don't need to - their running game never actually gets worse. They just plug in their latest walk-on from off the street and next thing you know, he's picking up 3rd and 6 on the ground.
Iowa was 106th in rushing offense this year.
You have to account for the GERG factor here.
Iowa, in spite of all the injuries, transfers and GERG Davis, gained more rush yards from its tailbacks than we did. Mark Weisman, a walk-on, averaged five yards a carry!
OK, but that's not a fair comparison because a lot of our rushing went through Denard. Sure, when you take away a team's best rusher, a lot of teams will be better than them.
Fair enough, but he was at 3.5 for the non-Minnesota Big Ten. Didn't exactly set the conference on fire.
Haven't they been trying to not get hurt.
Are you suggesting they should try to get hurt?
This is the same man who scoffed at AIRBHG in March, right? The poor fool. AIRBHG will always have his revenge in the end.
I be like dang.
He'd probably just transfer out to Wiscy for his final year anyway. But, on the other hand, who doesn't ?
in Fayetteville if he needs laser removal of a Hawkeye tatt. Oh, and he needs a RB once Kniles leaves.
We lost our starting running back in the first quarter against Iowa.
Thus I, for one, do not wish to mock the great AIRBGH, lest we feel his wrath again.
Seriously. We need to go 5-wide all game long against Iowa next year, just to be safe.
That does nothing. One of our RBs on the sideline will probably get arrested or come down with mono or something.
Good point. But fortunately next year's Iowa game is on the road, so we can leave our RBs in A2 (wearing sprigs of garlic around their necks and watching the game on TV from inside a chalk pentagram).
Is gonna be the plot of Final Destination 8
They pulled Berkley's offer
This has all the makings of a Final Destination movie. You can try to flee, but AIRBHG will come calling.
This AIRBHG is as frightening as: A large rock
That they had a million injuries...yet Garmon still didn't start or play THAT much.
After the starter (Bullock) got injured in the Northern Illinois game, Garmon went in and also got got injured immediately after.
Of course we're in the same division with the cursed ones. Of course. Playing in their stadium could spread their bad energy to us!
You think AIRBHG is singing take a take a take a take a Garmon?
Remember the linebacker in the movie, Elvin Mack? He got his leg broken vs Iowa in the movie, and in my irrelevant opinion, he is behind AIRBHG...taking his revenge, ACL by ACL
