Afternoon NFL Thread

Submitted by Gobgoblue on

Couple of games of note this afternoon.  Lions fans have to wait a few hours for their game, but there are still a lot of interesting matchups around the country.

1:00 games on tv here in Ann Arbor are Green Bay vs. Buffalo and Miami vs New England

I think the Lions will rattle off another win today, but the Packers will too.

Rooting interests suggest Lions fans need to root for Miami.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Seattle-SF officiating crew with a couple bail-out PF calls against the 49ers.

When Troy Aikman is bitching about roughing the passer calls, you know it's complete crap.

would much prefer the 49ers beat Pete and then dump out of the playoffs next week.

Obviously, Jim has been taken out at the knees by management and injuries, but in my heart of hearts, I don't see him leaving on the heels of this kind of failure. I don't want to believe it, but wouldn't a guy that competitive want a do-over in the NFL?

That's what I'm wondering too. I don't know what's in his head any more than anyone else does, but it's obvious that he's enormously competitive, and I don't know why people are outright dismissing the possibility that he might not want to leave the NFL on a losing note. Is the Michigan job enough of a pull to make him forget the disappointment of this season in SF?

Looks like the Lions have bssically clinched a playoff spot if they can manage to not blow this.

I get the feeling that the Vikings are going to be a tough team next year. I expected Bridgewater to be a huge bust, and he actually is showing flashes of being a servicable NFL QB. Also, the Vikings appear to be a very well conditioned team. It seems like everyone always gets an extra 2-3 yards falling forward while being tackled.
