Not including PSU/Temple, no reason to watch that game with these three 3:30 matchups.

Left the ND/Texas and Wisconsin/Bama games for the "Night Games" thread.

Beat me by 10 seconds.  Well I beat you but I was typing a bunch of comments in the OP.

2 very compelling matchups with BYU v Nebraska and Louisville v Auburn.  I have the Taysom Hillers pulling the upset and Auburn will be rolling out their new DC with our old friend Blake Countess out at corner.  By 5:30 PM I expect many UM fans unfamiliar with Mr. Hill to be clenching their behinds on what is headed to AA in a few weeks.

Also on the docket Virginia v UCLA.  Isn't Virginia the Illinois of the ACC - a program that seems to constantly underachieving vs what they could be??  Former UM recruit Josh rosen takes over a very talented UCLA squad - it will be interesting how much Mora Jr unleashes a true freshman.

PSU plays Temple - some say Temple could be half decent this year.  UTEP plays Arkansas.

I'm going to focus on the Auburn/L'Ville game and maybe scout BYU a little.

I've got Auburn winning the national championship over OSU...so I want to see if my picks go to shit.

1. OSU, 2. Auburn, 3. TCU, 4. USC

Auburn wins it all...

Also want to see the hype around this freshman QB, Rosen at UCLA.

Stanford did not look impressive offensively. It was pretty clear that Stanford came in expecting to dominate the line of scrimmage, but they weren't able to do it. Northwestern forced Stanford to throw, and Hogan wasn't sharp. Extremely conservative, dare I say arrogant game plan by Stanford. Northwestern's freshman QB got away with some mistakes (like two dropped INTs that would have killed scoring drives), but he's got talent and made several big plays. Overall, I'd say the loss probably says more about Stanford being overrated than Northwestern being a surprise team, but obviously Fitz and his players deserve a lot of credit for the upset.

The Harbaugh momentum is running out in palo alto, IMO. I've never been really impressed with David Shaw. He reminds me of Hoke in a lot of ways. He's got one way of doing things and if you take that away he has zero answer. That said, NW looks intimidating on offense. We always have issues with that style and it looks like they might have something special in the freshman QB.

The defense played lights out...but looks like same old Northwestern. However, Stanford looked AWFUL.

I didn't see anything from Northwestern that made me think anything different...as of late, with us, it's always an ugly game.

That game was just the same...only Stanford couldn't pull out some of that Wolverine magic late to get the W.

Completely diff teams. Utah is a defensive + special teams team who wins close teams.  BYU is all about that offense + good rush defense.

BYU is far more scary in terms of ability to put 40-50 on you.   Utah will beat you soundly 23-20.

Idk why nearly everyone these days uses chrome on their helmets. Am I the only one who thinks it looks really cheesy?

Scouting BYU over here. Particularly, I want to see what Nebraska is able to do with Taysom Hill, or indeed what they are unable to do with Taysom Hill. The BYU game is the only other OOC game that we have that uneases me a little bit - Utah did a little, but not as much as this one does on paper.

So far, looking pretty good through the air.
