Roby gets called for a facemask and decent field position becomes great field position....and Mumphrey, who dodged no less than 457 tackles and/or attempts to strip the ball, gets a TD. Spartans take the lead. Damnit.

It's ok to go for the strip when the ballcarrier is wrapped up or has no chance of additional forward progress. Don't try to strip the ball from him mid stride.

I really think Urban is in trouble in this conference. He wont be able to out-talent everyone on the field because there isn't nearly enough to choose from in the midwest compared to the southeast.

Take that with no Mattison, Strong, Mullen on his staff and I hope buckeye fans realize they aren't getting the urban from florida.

With Hoke, Kelly, and to a lesser extent Dantonio going into Ohio and getting good talent it's going to be a struggle for Urban.

That might be a bit naive. Take a look at what Meyer did with OSU's recruiting class this past year with the 3 months he had before NSD. His resume speaks for itself, and kids from the south will want to play for him. He won 2 national titles in the toughest conference in college football. There's no reason he can't have success in the B1G.

I think the only thing that might hinder his recruiting success is how good or bad the B1G becomes in the near future. If the conference as a whole continues to go down the crapper, he'll lose a lot of recruiting battles to the SEC. Kids want to play for national titles, plain and simple.

Devin Smith gets the TD on what looked like a horrible matchup in the secondary (wheels vs. not so much). I know that Devin Smith is a busy man, playing for three or four teams as he does, but I am somehow pleased that he was there to catch this pass.
