Afternoon Games Open Thread
I think Iowa should start asking for their money back, because Ferentz definitely isn't earning it.
but they have our number. I can't believe Michigan hasn't beaten these chumps in recent years.
It's wasn't that they had M's number
Ugh...can tonight come any faster? It's like all the good games come on tonight.
Yea, this is an awful slate of games. Only the big tens suckitude has kept it mildly entertaining
On a business trip in Belmont, NC spending the day working in the hotel room. Was hoping to be distracted by some good football, but it doesn't seem like that will happen until tonight.
Tom Gholston not starting today due to missing too much practice this week. Way to live up to that hype.
But he's expected to still play. I don't get how this is a punishment at all. Okay, you can't be there for the first play, but you can play the whole rest of the game. So what?
The first play against EASTERN.
BTW, did anybody see the graphic earlier that showed to countdown to kickoff between msu and Western?
"'Pun-ish-ment?' Are you speaking English right now? I don't know what that word means."
Or, if you'd like,
Five Dollar footlong?
Head still spinning. Did the B1G just lose to another MAC school?
Come on Eagles, let's make it two!
Soon it will be "Did the B1G just beat a MAC school?!"
Try not to lose by 60.
Commentator in the Penn State/Temple game just stated, of Matt McGloin:
"he's the type of player you'll see fighting for an NFL roster spot next August".
Srsly. WTF with television these days.
Staee has the oldest band in the B1G, but it doesn't mean their footwork isn't atrocious.
I can't figure out why there'd be much difference among college bands in the average age of the performers.
Did a bunch of State's kids get held back a couple of years in school or something?
Did the guy I the booth really just say "speaking of pretty good, lets talk about Andrew Maxwell." Never thought anybody would utter those words after last week.
I can't stand the BTN announcers. They're determined to make every single team sound like a MNC team.
"The wide receivers are predicting a very different game is week!" Well no freaking duh, it's EMU! Come on!
Rebecca Haarlow may have unintentionally set her make-up gun to "whore" when she got dressed.
I haven't seen her but this is hilarious.
Ga Tech returner just safetied himself on a kickoff!!!
After stopping the Ginger one and Penn State:
"This Temple defense is better than anyone in the country thinks".
I am a Temple Owl all day and the above statement re: defense is beyond ridiculous.
Based on the BTN pre-game highlights, I am forced to conclude the MSU-Notre Dame game never happened.
I love Eastern's Jerseys. Nicest combination of green and white in the nation.
Funny, I was just going to comment on how bad I think they look. Kinda like the car of that punk kid down the street that has various pieces permanently in primer.
Well, I guess the jersey does look nice. Its just the rest of the uni that looks gross.
They look great
Oregon State forced a 3 and out vs UCLA and is moving the ball well right now. I have some friends who go to UCLA, so lets go OSU!!
Surprising how empty the Rose Bowl is with ucla ranked and off to a good start this year.
Too bad the team blows.
Be cool man.
...telling the truth =/= being cool.
I'm switching between espn and btn and I've never realized how much better the picture quality is on espn.
This is especially obvious in streams
...those Missouri helmets made me just throw up a little in my mouth.
But they are in the SEC.
That trumps all.
(insert Jerel Worthy joke)
Please tell me these are pro combat (or whatever their supplier calls it). These are right up there with the nd clover in the top five ugliest helmets I've seen.
Ps way worse than anything Michigan has done with their unis
I would like to point out that the last time time CMU ripped the heart out of a B1G team with an onside kick, field goal and some help with late penalties that later that day M, Tate and Matthews did something special in beating the Irish. Just sayin.
...that's means we will lose to Sparty in OT.
No, we'll lose to Iowa in OT
You're right. My bad
Apparently you need a hotter insecure girlfriend to fine tune your selective memory.
Maxwell is like an old man out there. He hobbled to the sideline after that last tackle.
Eastern needs to remember not to put the "E" squarely on the primer on the helmet next time.
It's sad seeing the Rose Bowl so empty. Must be at half capacity today.
I see a lot of empty seats in Happy Valley too.
What the hell was that noise in Lansing???
Tom get in trouble with coach D or something?
OT, but I always wondered; do the insurance companies run out with their cameras after devastating tornadoes to make commercials? Seems kinda insenstive trying to show how sensitive they are like that...
Why do commentators fawn over Bill O'Brien?
PSU audiences expect a certain level of coach-worship when they tune in. ABC is adapting accordingly.
They are more than getting their money's worth this afternoon.
My god, how can you even watch a Penn State game. I watched 2 plays and wanted to fall asleep. Switch it over to CBS.
It seems if you were an OC for the Pats you are a genius...Weiss, Daniels, OBrien. I mean it's not like the QB for the Pats had anything to do with the succes of that franchise.
State gives up on the pass after a drop and strange flying out of bounds incompletion.
MSU misses a FG badly..LOL
What's up with Conroy? He normally is excellent.
Forced punt, and a missed FG against Eastern. Sparty is rebounding so well today, lol.
The Beavers are driving, up to midfield now, and Manion threw a nice lateral to the 50-yard line....quite literally actually. Fortunately, it bounced right out of bounds.
The next play is a beautiful screen pass taken to town by Storm Woods (great RB name), and alas, called back for holding.
"they're going to get Lehman for a block in the back...but what a wonderfully designed play"
The only reason the play worked is because of the block to the back.
I wonder if it is too early for the drinking thread.
What I yelled at the tv.
Wow, lots of empty seats at Beaver Stadium.....
EMU might want to try something different on 3rd and 1.
In fact, some of his calls were called "playground plays" by an announcer in an earlier game.
He makes Debord look like Don Coryell.
Why is Penn State/Temple on ABC?
Because a lot of people with tvs went to penn state. Pretty much how all these decisions are made. But also because people like watching train wrecks. They are interesting
1. I think UCLA's home uniforms are the second-best in college football. It's a very pretty shade of blue.
2. There's something about the name Manfro that strikes me as funny.
With respect to ucla uniforms. I love them
They're just clean and classy looking.
It's been said before but I really like what UCLA and USC have done by both wearing their home jerseys. It looks great with the sharp contrast in colors. However there are two teams that could do it better...
Wow MSU looks bad on offense.
MSU will eventually put up some points, but Maxwell is going to cost MSU some games this year with his play.
I'm starting to think OSU wins next week.
4th year in the program. You have to start wondering exactly how much he can get better. ND aside, he should be lighting Eastern up.
Seems like Sparty's gonna spart themselves into a 3-0 loss.
Two QB runs. Brilliant!
DeAnthony Arnett must really suck if he can't get on the field with this receiver corps. No one gets open.
Who is MSU going to beat in B1G play if they can't score a TD?
well they did go into Central's house and come out with a win sooo thats good for at least 4-5 BIG wins
Seriously though, what's up with Tom? Where he go?
The B1G logo looks bad on the MSU jerseys, like it was painted on.
Worst uniforms in the history of NCAA football. That's why they change every 4 years.
Re: Penn State
"With this coaching, if they can clean up some of those protection issues, they can win the division"
Srsly. Bill O'Brien's wife is in the booth with a gun trained on the commentators, right?
You sure they didn't say "win IN the division"?
Honestly, anybody could win that divison at this point. Do we honestly think PSU is any worse than OSU, Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana? Purdue I think is better, best team in the division as of now, but they could slip up here or there and leave the door open for PSU.
Uh oh, good thing MSU has the deepest o line in the universe. Nothing to worry about , ever.
MSU is the first team this year to not put up at least 10 points on EMU in the first quarter this year. Teams that have include Ball State and Illinois State, an FCS team. Sparty gonna Spart.
After one quarter, MSU is currently averaging 0.8 yards per pass attempt (five yards on six attempts).
Gary Danielson is irritating. I also hate the phrase "pitch and catch." I also learned today that the Obama campaign thinks Ohio is an important state in the electoral college.
Someone explain to me the love for Bell....6'2 245lbs and he wants to bounce it outside on every play....also way to pick schools 5 Star LB Thomas. Oh wait I mean no name fullback Thomas.
I think Bell is pretty good. He doesn't have breakaway speed, but can reliably get 4-5 a pop. What I don't get is the constant praise from the announcers for Maxwell, who's looked awful all year.
Bell won't last long at this rate. He's had to carry this team on his back and his legs are feeling it already.
UCLA gets stopped short of the goal, completely fazed by a false start penalty, and goes for the FG. 3-3 tie with quite a bit of the 2nd quarter left. So far, anything can happen in this game, so long as you're in field goal range.
Nebraska leads 34-0, still in the first quarter. Wow.
To a team that lost to Air Force by four touchdowns
I don't think anyone is saying Nebraska is good but jeez Idaho State looks like they would lose to some Texas hs teams
On pace for 140-0? That would be a game to remember.
This team was blown out by a FCS team at home. They have given up 37, 31, and 54 in successive weeks. He, in fact, looks like every EMU coach for the past 25 years.
This game is entirely the result of MSU's incompetence. Once MSU stops screwing around they'll put up 50 plus.
I'm not sure MSU has the ability to score 50 on anyone.
I mean his best season was last year, a 6-6 season, where they played 2 FCS schools
"EMU stop bullying Sparty so much"
Conroy avoids potential , mental destruction by finally hitting a field goal.
Just got back to the hotel from the CMU game. Iowa fans pretty pissed about my chips. And now we have to keep Enos as our coach. Lose lose.
Is this the game that puts Iowa fans over the edge with Ferentz? He's been inching closer to the hot seat in recent years.
Dead man walking.
This week in Sound Decision Making with Nick Hill....
Oregon State's having their way so far against UCLA, I'm hoping Missouri can edge out South Carolina because there's no way they're a top 10 team.
I think you need to readjust your idea of a top ten team this year. There are probably only 3 or 4 teams that are really good. And Bama is way ahead of those teams. You don't have to look like a top ten team to actually be a top ten team in 2012.
You misunderstand me so let me rephrase. They might not even be ranked by seasons end. West Virginia, South Carolina, and possibly even Oklahoma could all end up 4 loss teams this year. WV will likely lose to Texas, TCU, Oklahoma, KState, and maybe even Baylor after how poorly they played at Maryland. SC should end up dropping games to Georgia, LSU, Clemson, and possibly Florida. Oklahoma was good, but has suffered a ton of attrition to graduation/injury. They'll likely get held by Texas, TCU, Notre Dame, and possibly KState because of those 4 schools having good defenses. Landry Jones has poor protection, and averages about a 50/50 split between TDs and Int+sacks when they were good. But now even Wisconsin scored more against Utep than Oklahoma did this year
Wow....these BTN commentators need to be taken out back and shot. Apparently everyone for Sparty is a world beater again I ask...did last week not happen?
I mean it's 3-0 in the 2nd against EMU, in what world is that total domination?
No wonder ND blew them out at home.
I'm gaining more confidence that Michigan will win tonight!
Thought EMU was gonna catch a break there..
3 of Oregon State's 4 penalties account for 45 of the 50 penalty yards. UCLA hasn't capitalized on any of these gifts.
If I am Jim Mora, my secondary being sucked into play action, leaving no one to look after Brandin Cooks, really stings right now. Man-to-air coverage just doesn't work with a fast WR.
As an EMU grad, MSU is making the Eagles look respectable. Michigan's defense can play as well as EMU.... right.....?
I'm not sure how much you can credit Eastern for Maxwell having no control over how much power he puts behind each throw.
But yes, UM should be able to make some plays defensively versus MSU.
My concern is Denard versus that defense.
I think he should be able to move the ball. MSU just looks like this is a letdown game after the loss to ND. I'm not saying that EMU is gonna win, but MSU just doesn't seem into it AT ALL.
Denard should be fine though against this defense. Tonight will tell a lot though. ND, for once, seems like the real deal and that defense front is just as good as MSU, and their secondary is just as bad as MSU. Should give us a lot of information.
Ok, I gotta change it. I refuse to watch anymore of these 7-6 football games. This is miserable.
I imagine that Mark Dantonio told Dan Roushar to "shorten the field" for the offense, so he now plays between the 30s. It makes sense in an odd way.
Is the rain expected to stop by 730 in South Bend?
Did UCLA change their shade of blue? Looking really deep.
When did tacopants transfer to MSU?
So......Tigers hosting the Twins looks like the best game on so far.
MSU has a great offense.
Bell should play QB and throw to himself.
Oregon St. looks pretty good up 17-3 on UCLA.
SPARTY NOOOOOOOO LOL
This is painful watching the MSU game. Does Eastern go into halftime with the lead?!?!
Bennie Fowler is Good.
Hahaha. MSU losing.
TD EASTERN!!! LOL
What. a. catch.
oh, sparty. Sparty, sparty, sparty.
catch by the eagle wr. it looked like he timed the jump wrong too.
"I was just laughing. I thought it was funny!"
I feel a little bit better about ND's defense.
Shawn Mannion puts up a bomb to Marcus Wheaton for another Oregon State TD. The UCLA secondary is getting beat in man coverage more often than not so far in this game.
The Beaver defense really does look pretty solid. Brett Hundley and Johnathan Franklin have been made virtual non-factors to this point with only 128 total yards of offense.
After the review, msu is Easterns little brother
Be laughing a year from now if EMU pulls this off and Mike Hart repeats his 2007 quote.
These announcers are funny.
Maxwell throws an awful pass behind his WR, forcing him to stop and adjust and allowing the defense to wrap him up immediately for a 2-yard gain. Announcer: "Maxwell throws a strike over the middle."
How much time left in the half for MSU/EMU?
MSU will still win easily, but at least EMU is throwing a scare into MSU.
i don't get it? tRCMB told me that half of MSU's team was a heisman favorite?
The rest of the conference being a tire fire is pretty damn funny...as long as Michigan wins the conference.
Hopefully soon to be crickets, angry mobs and the smell of burning couches.
Apparently, Paul Spanos prefers to call his blitzes "gangnam style". Psy really has created a lasting legacy for all of us.
You cannot tell me that close wins to Purdue and MSU, as they lose to directional school east, aren't favorable indicators for Michigan tonight.
You know he's loving it on the sidelines for EMU right now.
Haha, I totally forgot he's on their staff.
Then all of a sudden it just hit me that Hart was the RB coach. Would love to see a Dantonio/Hart meeting at midfield after an EMU win. Probably won't happen but the way this game is going it's not out of the question.
the life insurance policies for couches are skyrocketing...
Nice late hit out of bounds, Bollough (sp?).
Meh nevermind. On slowmo, QB seemed to be in play.
Strange that they called the penalty, since their defense's roughness is all of the necessary variety.
Spartans gonna spart
Here is what we have learned about Sparty....Worthy was that DLine all by himself. His ability to jump snaps made a world of difference for sparty the last 2 yrs.
Gholston on the other hand....well yea we have seen what he has done this year. Nothing
Sparty for the usual unecessary rougness......however, that was a bad call against Bullough as the Qb was still in play and he came shoulder first.
Michigan State's offense is as potent as......
stephen hawking's weiner
wearing a tuxedo to your vasectomy.
Arkansas' piss. Hence the need to increase the temperature of said piss.
just take a knee maxwell....lets not try anything else.
MSU has one offensive playmaker - a tailback who is massively overused as it is - so naturally they punt him at punt returner. That has fiasco written all over it.
Somewhere Drew Stanton is shaking his head.
8 of 18 for 39 yards? Ouch.
At the game. Yes, it is as awful as it looks. I'd almost feel bad if they didn't taunt the shit out of thr MMB last year
Loss of 8...ha
Sparty really gonna Spart right now...jeebus.
thinking about trying to get a ticket to UW v MSU this year, but it looks like that game will end 6-3 with maybe 150 combined yards offense.
Hopefully Ball will be good to play against Sparty...this is his 2nd concussion in the last 6 weeks or so, yes?
Anyone LESS impressed with ND's epic domination of MSU last week? I am sure that Sparty will pull this one out, but make no bones about it, MSU is very very beatable, and far from the dominant team the media was making them out to be.
I am sure the media won't mention this one though, as it will tarnish the Domer hype.
+1. Agree with it all, especially the double-very.
This is embarassing for MSU. They have nothing outside of Bell and he's going to be dead by the 6th game at the rate that they're using him.
Are they saying boo or boo-urns?
+1 to you sir. That made me laugh out really frickin loud.
I was saying, "Boo-urns!"
As the first half draws to a close, Andrew Maxwell has thrown for 31 yards on 19 attempts (1.6 YPA). That is breathtakingly bad.
But at least he, unlike Denard, isn't 90% of the offense. He's only 21% with 33 yards of the 151 total!
Spartan Nation pounded it in our heads that losing Cousins wouldn't change a thing because Maxwell studied under him and is ready to shine.
A few guys from the BTN predicted MSU to be a dark horse national title contender back in July.
Wow, just tuned in to the Sparty score. They have to be seriously considering a backup plan for Maxwell. Who else is even on their roster as a QB? 19 passes for 31 yards? Against Eastern? Wow.
WOTS is they have a walk- on who's much better than Denard.
I don't know if I should, but I'm starting to feel better about our game against ND tonight. This is a pathetic effort MSU is putting forward right now.
Right now ND is beating Sparty again this week........No logical reason says EMU should even be within 21 right now.
Watching this game you can tell Sparty started to believe their hype instead of staying hungry like they have been the last couple years. Mentally they need to just pound the ball and incorporate a little PA into it to finish this game out.
Or maybe MSU just isn't that good. This is the third game I've watched them play and I just don't see a whole lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball.
I know they're defense is good, but watching Boise State last night get shut-out on offense makes me think they haven't seen a functional offense yet this year. With an untested defense and an offense that lacks identity, I'm getting more and more confident about us beating them in October.
I think they do have a very good LB corps. The DL and secondary are a little overrated, though.
Edit: The ESPN box scores look awesome when you create the post and sucks upon submission. Let's just say the EMU-MSU box score is not pretty.
i bet those spartans feel like jackasses for talking shit about denard on twitter now...he was more effective against alabama than maxwell is..
Easy killer. Horse then cart.
Everytime I watch a Big Ten game I get the feeling I should be buying Rose Bowl tickets and booking a flight to Pasadena.
Spartan fans are no longer allowed to talk about 14-41 to Bama. EMU has their balls at halftime. Even if they win, they are Trailing the Eastern Michigan Hurons.
MSU will eventually wake up but we can enjoy their misery until then.
This is mostly hangover from last week.
I know people love Bell for MSU, but behind that line he's not going to be anything better than we've seen this season outside of Boise - a good runner who can make you pay if he gets into space, but who simply can not be effective when defenders are cutting through the line. And if he isn't running for 150+ yds a game, MSU has NOTHING else offensively outside of a couple of TE-specific plays.
They could never come back.
Where the hell is the 3rd string guy that the 4th guy on the safety depth chart was tweeting about during the Alabama game?
Put him in.
Sparty. I'm delighted with your performance so far today.
Does this mean Bell's Heisman campaign is in jeopardy?
The Ghost of Mike Hart
He was the August Heisman. He didn't even make it through September.
You can't put something in jeopardy that never existed in the first place
// 3-time Heisman winner Ron Powlus
EMU up 7-3 at the half. Go Eagles!
"Where's the threat?" - Coach English
Old Dominion's QB threw for 730 yards and 5 td's today. No picks in over 70 pass attempts.
Seems all the 3 star players Sparty has been getting of late
Coach D. has not coached them up.
Eastern took them behind it in the first half.
Glen Mason is shocked!
this thread is full of win!
best quote i found "We have all the tools (stud TE, heralded QB, playmaking receivers, experienced o-line, beastly fullbacks and a heisman caliber rb) and yet we have zero offensive identity.
Through three complete games, Bell accounts for 82% of MSU's total rushing yards, and Maxwell, not shockingly, is 94% of their passing. If either one isn't working or both are ineffective for any length of time, the MSU offense has all the power threat of Neifi Perez.
As a Cubs' fan, I have to tell you how upset I am that you brought up Neifi Perez. I've spent years trying to forget about him.
Us Tiger fans are not exactly overjoyed with Mr. Perez, either.
Sparty should wake up this half and win this somewhere around 31-7 or so....but the 1st half will always be funny.
They don't have the passing attack to put up 28 in a half without a lot of turnovers from EMU.
Honestly....is there a LT that doesn't eat Gholstons lunch? Dude gets stalemated on almost every play.
The Gholston hype has always made me laugh. There has been very limited evidence that he is an every-down DE and lots of evidence that he's meh at best.
The whole preseason "Sparty hype" made me laugh. BTN, ESPN, pretty much everyone was saying that Sparty was going to win the B10, blah blah blah. Obviously, they still could win the B10, but they're going to have a tough road if they cannot play better than we've seen them play last week and this week.
Sparty's halftime adjustment: "Eff it . . . Bell."
Well, if it works...
Of course, the kid is going to have over 100 carries in the OOC schedule against such defensive heavyweights as CMU, Boise, and EMU. I'm sure he won't break down when he has to run the ball 30+ times against OSU, Nebraska, Wiscy, Iowa, UM, etc.
Looks like MSU is just going to pound pound pound the ball this half and throw in the occasional play action.
RCMB is being burned down as we speak.
Let's see an EMU TD this drive because if there's a 3-and-out or a TO, momentum will be swinging.
4th and 4 inside the opponents 40 and you kick? Apparently Dantonio's huevos didn't make the short drive to Spartan Stadium for today's game.
Tough decision. Maxwell can't seem to throw a completion over 3 yards, so it's either try a 4th and 4 running play or kick the field goal.
At this point, show your offense that you have a little faith and let them try to convert. It's not like you are giving up that much in terms of field position.
Why would he have faith in them? They've stunk all year. I think in this case he had to take the points.
I'm not going to put it all on Maxwell, but the passing game in East Lansing is alarming. Shout out to my man Tommy Vento!
Wow, was Spartan Stadium that empty at kickoff, or did they all leave to go burn the city down?
Wow...did that commentator really just explode for Gholston getting a SMALL push against the LT? This is bad.....
Staee is still losing? If another B1G team falls to another MAC school today then Michigan needs to have a damn good showing tonight to save the conference. Fortunately I think Michigan can, and will.
"Maxwell is supposed to be better than cousins, they said"
"We will be fine at wide receiver, they said"
"Our offensive is awesome, they said"
"Gholston will be an elite defensive player, they said."
"I got into Michigan but chose State instead, they said."
He was down before the ball came out.
I think he was down. Hard to tell though.
Wow....did he just fumble despite not even getting touched on the ball side? That is terrible ball security, should never happen.
I'm not sure if he was down or not. They'll probably just go with the on-field ruling.
$5 says Brian moves MSU into the top 10 when they overcome this stifling Eastern Michigan defense.
Is he still the running back coach for Eastern Michigan?
Is it just me or does Gholston like to jump on the pile at the end of plays when he isn't the main tackler? I've noticed it twice since I've been watching.
That is how he has built his hype this season....a good player makes a play and Gholston gets there as the play is over and gets credit from the commentators when they show the replay.
I know BTN still wants MSU to throw play-action, but that requires having competent WRs and a QB who has any accuracy.
"I don't care how out matched you are...sell out for the run...you can become a tough defense..." Mason
MSU is a one trick pony!
I can't believe this game!
NICE frontside CB blitz.
Bell, Bell, Bell. One positive about this game is that it's going to kill Maxwell's confidence. His coach doesn't trust him to do anything other than check down to his TE on obvious third down passing plays. Against Eastern.
Well, you can't always expect to cash in on a short field when facing the EMU defensive juggernaut.
Beautiful hit on Maxwell by EMU on that play. Pass to MSU's incarnation of Tacopants was incomplete, which seems unlikely, but at his height, he sometimes is hard-pressed to go down for underthrown passes.
Think English was mad at the fair catch at the 5? Wow.
I thought that at first too but he was yelling at the LB who blitzed and hit Maxwell on the play before - don't know why.
Whew, Maxwell back under 2 yards per attempt.
What year is this? Are forward passes not allowed anymore?
60% downfield passes are catchable by receiver
30% of those are actually caught by MSU WR's
20% downfield passes catchable by defense
When you consider its going to take >5 passes to get downfield...
You're better off just running bell/dumping off to backs and TE's
being pinned back there. I'm psyched for Ron Englisn and his boy-os!
I honestly can say I did not expect to be entertained by the majority of the Ohio State - UAB and Michigan State - EMU games today.
Welcome to the SEC Mizzou! Good choice!
The secret to shutting down Sparty has been revealed:
I dont think the free safety would be lagging in this formation. Pretty sure he'd be comitted to the run as well.
Does Bell always return punts for Sparty or has Dantonio just decided that he's the only reliable player on the team?
My right lung lobar pneumonia or Michigan States inability to do anything?
that's a no-nooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Is the MSU coaching staff crazy putting him on punt return? I have my doubts that he can stay healthy for the whole season given how much they will need to rely on him.
surprised to see him returning punts as well. even if he makes it all the way through he'll be a shadow of his week one self.
I almost can't believe what I'm watching. EMU's horrible run defense standing up MSU's "darkhorse Heisman candidate". But I guess when MSU's QB is being totally ineffective, they can just load the box.
Still think Sparty wins, but this has been awful for MSU. This was supposed to be their game to work on their passing game, not turn to the run game because you're losing and actually need to do something to win...
"Well Michigan State executing exactly how they want to..."
she said that.
Bell absolutely DRILLED that EMU LB!
Commanding 9-7 lead for Sparty! Almost 7 qtrs. of football without a TD for Sparty!
Given Eastern's 122 yards of offense, I'd give MSU an 80% of winning even if they don't score again.
Still, this is awesome.
Time for something flukey-positive to happen in Eastern's favor.
EMU's defense is not good at all. 124th versus the run, 45th versus the pass, and 116th in total defense.
I am pretty certain that MSU is going to win too. But, as I said above, I am very curious to see what the ND Hype Machine media has to say about this performance by MSU. I've been saying all week that I am not convinced that ND is as good as everyone thinks because I think Sparty is a complete and utter PRETENDER.
Catch the ball!
Wow that was a big drop....
Ahhh, shit, that was a TD.
mother of god man, i could have caught that
Oh man, you've got to catch that ball.
