Sad thing is when MSu wins this game 31-21 they will move up 2 spots in the polls due to Baylor and FSU/ND loser falling.  They are going to have 1 significant win all year if they win out and thats OSU while Big 12, pac 12, SEc teams molest each other all year.

Hopefully the committee takes that into account.  Wouldn't be surprised to see some blowout semi-final games if the Big10/Big12 get teams in.

The more I see of MSU and OSU the more I think OSU may beat them.  Sparty will have all the pressure on them.  OSU will be playing with house money.

Let me just say I dont want Art Briles OR Kevin Sumlin anywhere near UM football.  You need to play defense to be successful.  Both these guys are OCs masquerading as HCs.   Sumlin especially gets way more talent than Briles and refuses to field a defense.  OC? Yes all day.  HC - no.

No.

Miles has had an issue finding QBs in his years at LSU.  Always excellent defense.   Saban's teams are usually balanced - some years they have better offenses than others.

Sumlin and Briles basically will bring air based version of Rich Rod here.   I want a coach who at least shows concerns for both side of the ball.

Maybe Rich Rod WITH Casteel breaks through and they get the same success they had at WVU, but no spread heavy team outside of Auburn has done much.

I don't even consider Urban Meyer a spread heavy team. I'm talking about the teams who constantly go no huddle and run a million plays a game.

Helfrich is not Chip Kelly.   He has yet to prove much.  Chip made that team surge after Bellioti (sp?).   And yes it would be a return to RR years.  I have no idea how good Casteel is.  He was good in a very bad conference (Big East).  And we'll see how he does in the Pac 12 over time - obviously decent but we'll see.

By all the RR supporters. But I agree...the jury is still out IMO.

In the end, you have Auburn and no one else. Auburn is run heavy and has an SEC defense. Everyone else is just relying on outscoring the opponent.

By the way, I'm NOT using this as an excuse to be Hoke and play MANBALL, but that shit is even worse.

Personally, I'd like to be "multiple." I'd like to be able to go 5 wide and also get under center with a nice run/pass balance.

Man Indiana could have been a 7-8 win team this year with their starter or backup QBs ... Really unlucky..

MSU just isn't as good as last year.  Despite our record (and performance), I think we ARE better than last year overall (i.e. without a massive achilles heel on the O-Line).  From what I'm seeing, I think we have a shot at pulling off the upset if our defense can play to potential.  I have faith the the run defense and I think their O-Line can be vulnerable to a pass rush.  Can't allow any big plays in the passing game, and create a few a turnover or two.

Prepare yourself for misery next week. MSU is going to make mincemeat out the offensive line. They'll be blitzing the A gaps and timing the snap count perfectly. Also, Michigan hasn't scored a touchdown against MSU in 2 years. The game won't even be close.

But we fired Borges!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting a win.  But I really believe that MSU is only a good, not great.  They'll be fired up to play us, I get that.  I do have confidence in our defense to slow their offense down.  It's going to depend on whether they can sustain it for four quarters, and that's going to have alot to do with a)  giving the offense opportunities for easy points or b) the offense either playing efficient, mistake free football (not counting on it) or c)  the offense hitting on a big play or two to give the defense just enough "run support" to keep them motivated.

If we have a shot at winning, it'll look alot like Penn State -- 20-16 or something.  It's not impossible.  We've never seen Nuss after a bye week, and there's a reason we were excited about him right?

Our D hasn't shown dick this year.  What makes you think they'll suddenly be competent?   Was it the amazing performance against Rutgers to make Nova look like Aaron Rogers or was it how we make Cobb look like Adrian Peterson?

I wasn't able to watch the Rutgers game and ignorance is bliss.  Otherwise, from my perspective the defense has looked fine against each of our opponents until around the mid-second quarter where they've been on the field for 8 possessions and 65% of the game set up with poor field position.  And in the Penn State game (admittedly a different level of O-Line), they were engaged throughout and played with their hair on fire.  I have a little more confidence in them playing with swagger against a rival with the season still on the brink, anuerusyms of leadership, etc...

I don't know man.  I'm trying to convince myself there's a shot at winning, because it's way more depressing to watch a football game like it's a punishment.

INTERCEPTION IU!!!

Cook throws one deep in their territory; Indiana came to play on homecoming...oh a penalty tacks 15 yards to the int...Spartans better watch out, I think they were looking ahead...

EDIT: Oh, it looks like the penalty was on the Hoosiers but Coleman just ran off a big run to erase the penalty yards...DIAMONT, TOUCHDOWN INDIANA!!!

This is the 3rd week Kenny "not so" Trill hasn't done a damn thing...it was supposed to be a QB competition. Let Allen have a shot. Hill is freaking out and they're about to be down 31-0.
