Afternoon Game Thread
Well the noon games turned out to be dogs - congrats to Miss State and whatever that team is called down south. The "best" game was Florida v Tenn...10-9. Boo.
I'll be peaking in on NC State to see if they can stay within 10 of Clemson on the road - could be a sleeper coaching candidate there. Oklahoma could be on upset alert. Bama, ND, and Wiscy should all be interesting ones.
Ok lets try again
- Alabama at Ole Miss, CBS, 3:30
- Baylor at Texas, ABC, 3:30
- Navy at Air Force, CBS Sports Net, 3:30
- North Carolina State at Clemson, ESPNU, 3:30
- Oklahoma at TCU, Fox, 3:30
- Stanford at Notre Dame, NBC, 3:30
- Wisconsin at Northwestern, ESPN2, 3:30
- Kansas at West Virginia, FSN, 4
- Oregon State at Colorado, Pac-12, 4
- Vanderbilt at Georgia, SEC, 4

Definitely watching Stanford/ND. Hoping Stanford absolutely punks ND in their shitty stadium.

My step dad actually went to a game there in 2011 and said it was like a time warp.
I can't imagine not having a video board.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:44 PM ^
Back in the day we didn't need video boards, because games didn't have ten zillion long commercial breaks, they just played football. It was easy to remember what happened on the previous play.
Also, we had longer attention spans.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:53 PM ^
My seats are in Section 6 and are pretty close to the field. When the action is down in the North endzone, sometimes I can't see because of the players on the opposing sideline blocking some of it so I look at the video board.
This is only if the ball is inside the 15. Kind of sucks but it sure beats watching at home.

I need more tv's . There are way too many good games on in the 3 30 slot today. Need 4 tvs.

That CBS college football intro music / jingle might be the best thing ever.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:41 PM ^
Doesn't hold a candle to the mid-2000s ABC Sports music.
Immediately brings me back to when I was young kid watching those Braylon Edwards teams.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:52 PM ^
I prefer the CBS jingle although for us in the Midwest we never have our teams on that channel other than for bowls.
Although ABC had the best announcer ever - when you were a baby. OHhhhh Nellie!
October 4th, 2014 at 3:57 PM ^
I remember Keith Jackson. I remember him calling the 2005 National Championship.
The last Michigan game I think he called was the 2005 Rose Bowl. Ugh.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:20 PM ^
I miss this so much you don't even know.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:52 PM ^
Reminds me of all those Miami (FL) teams that I hated

Hate ND.

Clemson strikes with a big pass to open over the top - 7-0
October 4th, 2014 at 3:38 PM ^
And by that, I mean an Ole Miss player rolls up on Saban's leg, tearing Saban's ACL, followed by Alabama deciding he is no longer is living up to his commitment and encouraging him to pursue a new opportunity, perhaps at a community college or Gorgia Southern.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:39 PM ^
Meanwhile, Florida won, 10-9. Ugly win, but a win. Important because we know that they are probably the frontrunners in the race for Mullen if they fire Muschamp.

I'm hoping the exact opposite.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:42 PM ^
watching him break his leg... ughh
Don't think thats what you meant by "rolling" but still. I can hear his screams!
October 4th, 2014 at 3:48 PM ^
i've got Clemson on upset watch. Losing to NCstate would be soooo Clemson.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:09 PM ^
Arguably, the best instance of Clemsoning since the inception of the term was their getting to their first BCS bowl and promptly being obliterated by West Virginia 70-33. Running over NC State in the first half here only to somehow collapse in the second half might make a case to top that if it happens. It gets to a point where they just need to be preemptively not ranked most years.

Great pass by Clemson QB.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:51 PM ^
Against UM Gholson throws that 4th down pass perfectly. Yes, we still lose that game, but dang he was on fire that day.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:51 PM ^
Where I'm watching 4 TVs at once and I ignore the B1G game. YIKES.

ND goes for it and fails on 4th and 7 from the Stanford 38 in the pooring rain. Interesting call.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:57 PM ^
The pass was open though. QB just needed to throw it better. Like he did every damn time against us.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:55 PM ^
I can't even keep up with all the games
October 4th, 2014 at 3:56 PM ^
- Alabama at Ole Miss, CBS, 3:30
- Baylor at Texas, ABC, 3:30
- North Carolina State at Clemson, ESPNU, 3:30
- Oklahoma at TCU, Fox, 3:30
- Stanford at Notre Dame, NBC, 3:30
- Wisconsin at Northwestern, ESPN2, 3:30
I'm watching Bama on the main screen...Stanford/ND and Oklahoma/TCU on the next 2...and Baylor/Texas on the 4th screen.
I'll probably flip to NC St./Clemson off and on.
October 4th, 2014 at 3:59 PM ^
October 4th, 2014 at 4:02 PM ^
We get...
LSU/Auburn
Texas Tech/KSU
USC/ASU
Nebraska/MSU
UCLA/Utah
...granted it's bolstered by all the ranked v ranked SEC matchups, but still, hell of a day for CFB.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:00 PM ^
Quon Treadwell would look good in maize and blue.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:23 PM ^
Annnnnd now I haz a sad
October 4th, 2014 at 4:01 PM ^
Stanford gets to Golson on 3 man rush lolz
October 4th, 2014 at 4:02 PM ^
TCU up 7-0 on OU.
Ugh. For some reason I can't get UT-Baylor. I'm only getting FSU and Wake Forest. Stupid regional television.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:17 PM ^
I could barely believe it when couldn't find Baylor-Texas on TV and came to find out it was supplanted for FSU-Wake. That game should be relegated to the ACC Network or ESPNU
October 4th, 2014 at 4:03 PM ^
Clemson destroying NC State - difference in athleticsm is stark. No idea what happened to FSU last week.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:05 PM ^
14-0 TCU...........
October 4th, 2014 at 4:06 PM ^
TCU up 14-0 on Oklahoma. Knight a little distracted?
October 4th, 2014 at 4:09 PM ^
So what big program goes after Hugh Freeze if he starts building things there? His name is associated with recruiting dirt but no one can prove anything. Someone is going to take a chance, I wonder what school.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:10 PM ^
Wait until a few of his guys graduate/leave school and start talking. I can't see many schools outside of the SEC taking a chance on him.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:09 PM ^
That was basically a good punt by Kevin Hogan.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:10 PM ^
Ole Miss kicker misses a gimme FG
October 4th, 2014 at 4:11 PM ^
leading Alabama 3-0 after 10 minutes of the 1st, and in the red zone, threatening to increase their lead. Never did I think I'd see the day the state of Mississippi would have 2 real good teams.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:14 PM ^
and they then miss a chip shot FG attempt...
October 4th, 2014 at 4:11 PM ^
Oklahoma scores to bring deficit down to 14-7.
October 4th, 2014 at 4:12 PM ^
And Golson fumbles.
