Afternoon Game Thread

Submitted by alum96 on

Well the noon games turned out to be dogs - congrats to Miss State and whatever that team is called down south.  The "best" game was Florida v Tenn...10-9. Boo.

I'll be peaking in on NC State to see if they can stay within 10 of Clemson on the road - could be a sleeper coaching candidate there.  Oklahoma could be on upset alert.  Bama, ND, and Wiscy should all be interesting ones.

Ok lets try again

  • Alabama at Ole Miss, CBS, 3:30
  • Baylor at Texas, ABC, 3:30
  • Navy at Air Force, CBS Sports Net, 3:30
  • North Carolina State at Clemson, ESPNU, 3:30
  • Oklahoma at TCU, Fox, 3:30
  • Stanford at Notre Dame, NBC, 3:30
  • Wisconsin at Northwestern, ESPN2, 3:30
  • Kansas at West Virginia, FSN, 4
  • Oregon State at Colorado, Pac-12, 4
  • Vanderbilt at Georgia, SEC, 4

Definitely watching Stanford/ND. Hoping Stanford absolutely punks ND in their shitty stadium.

Back in the day we didn't need video boards, because games didn't have ten zillion long commercial breaks, they just played football. It was easy to remember what happened on the previous play.

Also, we had longer attention spans.

My seats are in Section 6 and are pretty close to the field. When the action is down in the North endzone, sometimes I can't see because of the players on the opposing sideline blocking some of it so I look at the video board.

This is only if the ball is inside the 15. Kind of sucks but it sure beats watching at home.

And by that, I mean an Ole Miss player rolls up on Saban's leg, tearing Saban's ACL, followed by Alabama deciding he is no longer is living up to his commitment and encouraging him to pursue a new opportunity, perhaps at a community college or Gorgia Southern.

Meanwhile, Florida won, 10-9. Ugly win, but a win. Important because we know that they are probably the frontrunners in the race for Mullen if they fire Muschamp.

Arguably, the best instance of Clemsoning since the inception of the term was their getting to their first BCS bowl and promptly being obliterated by West Virginia 70-33. Running over NC State in the first half here only to somehow collapse in the second half might make a case to top that if it happens. It gets to a point where they just need to be preemptively not ranked most years.

I'm watching Bama on the main screen...Stanford/ND and Oklahoma/TCU on the next 2...and Baylor/Texas on the 4th screen.

I'll probably flip to NC St./Clemson off and on.

TCU up 7-0 on OU.

Ugh. For some reason I can't get UT-Baylor. I'm only getting FSU and Wake Forest. Stupid regional television.

So what big program goes after Hugh Freeze if he starts building things there?  His name is associated with recruiting dirt but no one can prove anything.  Someone is going to take a chance, I wonder what school.

leading Alabama 3-0 after 10 minutes of the 1st, and in the red zone, threatening to increase their lead.  Never did I think I'd see the day the state of Mississippi would have 2 real good teams.
