Boise is having its way with NIU.

Also BGSU vs. Ga. Southern later today.

is an idiot. Watching this game reminds me of when they played Ohio State.

they're just blowing every opportunity on offense with stupid play calling & the defense looks like they forgot how to tackle

If you had asked me earlier today if BGSU would run away with this one, I would have thought they would. However, Georgia Southern is already trying to hang around and make a game of this one.

I saw Boise destroying NIU...NIU is awful and they were on QB #5 I believe.

I really liked this matchup tonight, Ga Southern is a solid team/program and the contrasting styles were intriguing to me.

I would've said close at halftime and BGSU will win semi-comfortably in the second half just because they'll hit more big plays and Ga Southern won't be able to since they run so much.

Edit: Didn't know BGSU's coach was an idiot who'd go for it on the 20 when it's 4th and 9 and he can take the easy FG to tie the game at 30.

Ga Southern vs. BGSU should be a good one - however, the weather sucks.

This bowl season hasn't been great, but the matchups after Christmas are as good as they've been in the past few years. I believe 2012 was a great bowl year - that was the year Michigan played VT. But WVU smoked Clemson, Oklahoma St./Stanford has a classic game, Wisconsin/Oregon was an awesome Rose Bowl game. The SEC rematch didn't live up to the hype. MSU/Georgia was a 3OT game, but more than anything - the matchups were really good.

I see that this year, there are a number of awesome matchups that should (hopefully) produce great games.

Here are the games I'm looking forward to the most...

Michigan is on ABC and OSU/ND on ESPN is kind of funny. That said, the fact that they're both 1p games is absolutely ridiculous.

That SUCKS for the local folks as well. Why would ESPN do this? Just because the Rose Bowl moved to ESPN?

Keep the Rose Bowl on ABC and play it at 6p after Michigan.. Fiesta Bowl 3:30p on ESPN. Sugar Bowl at 9p on ESPN after the Fiesta Bowl.

I actually considered it a good thing. Those are the two teams I have no desire at all to watch and now I have a great excuse not to.

As to your general point, though, I agree. No reason to start the three early games about the same time and then force everyone to watch one game at a time later when they are blow outs as often as not.

Boise State's smackdown of NIU was as lopsided a game statistically as I've seen:

35 - 7 in first downs

654 - 33 in total yards (277 to -5 rushing)

43 minutes to 17 in time of possession.

Ouch.

Now that I think about it - you win the MAC and go to some crummy bowl game in Alabama.  Westerm Michigan finishes in the middle and they go to the Bahamas, where it's better naturally.  I'd rather go to the Bahamas all day.

They need to completely redo the bowls. One, there's too many...but too many matchups don't make sense.

They need to take a look at the college football landscape and reorder everything starting from the top.

But I agree...if you win the MAC and win the Sun Belt, to shit conferences...let those teams go to the Bahamas.
