Pretty surprising TSIO couldn't pull both, sign of the hard times at tsio. Pretty good break for the good guys though, that would've been a good haul for the tsio to get both.

Oregon's receivers typically don't strike fear into anyone's hearts.  I think they're happy to take anyone who wants to go play receiver up there.  If nothing else, I think we're establishing that Chip has decided to be a burr in Mich/Ohio St.'s saddles for now(Dior Mathis, Jake Fisher, Pharoah Brown, and now Dwayne Stanford) and Oregon isn't going away anytime soon.

I read twice today (from different sources) in articles about Michigan football that Pharoah Brown either decommitted or is not listed as a committed recruit.

Anyone have any info to clarify or reject this statement/rumor?

[edit:] My apologies.  I see the comment I'm replying to grouped P. Brown with other prospects Michigan didn't lock down.  My question is answered.

Since he currently has no affiliation with the school, can he call Adolphus Washington as many times as he wants and say, "I'm coming next year, I want you on board."

Isn't that exactly what Bob Huggins did when he knew he had the KSU job, and he got Beasley and Bill Walker to go with him?

Miles and Harbaugh were still coaching at other schools, not working in the booth for ESPN.

Not to mention, Urban Meyer's comments might as well scream "I'm coaching at Ohio State next year" with a goddamn megaphone.  Plus I don't think elevenwarriors as one of the premier blogs for a huge fan base, would completely put their credibility on the line like this unless they were crystal clear on their sources.

Not shooting the messenger, I know they were once considered prospects...but at this point.

"Meh" is all I can come up with.

Washington was supposed to go to Ohio months ago and Stanford has fallen down every board and recruiting ranking in the country.

On-on to the next one...

I have wondered how good Washington is. I mean obviously is is VERY good, he had something like 30 sacks this year. But does anyone know about the league that Taft plays in? A lot of his highlight tape looks like him bull rushing toddlers. I'm not trying to bash the kid because he's going to Ohio, his numbers just seem strange... Any insight from a person in that area would be much appreciated.

Taft is a Division III school (Ohio has 6, with D1 the largest). They went 7-3 and just made the playoffs, ranking 8th out of 30 in their region; they lost their first playoff game to Springfield Shawnee 64-8.

Their conference consists of City of Cincinnati public schools and it's pretty weak since most of the city's talent is siphoned off to the catholic schools. The league went 8-20 OOC overall; no one other than Taft made the playoffs. In fact, none of Taft's 10 opponents made the playoffs (about a quarter of Ohio high schools do)--they might very well be the only school in the area not to have played a playoff qualifier in the regular season.

To be honest, I was surprised when I first found out Washington was a football and not a basketball prospect. Taft hoops was 25-1 and state champions last year, and he was a big reason; I had never paid any attention whatsoever to Taft football until I found out he and Stanford were prospects.

AW was a beast in the televised HS game earlier this year.  Battles between he and Magnuson, Braden, et al, should be epic along the lines of Long/Gholston.  As they should be

Can anyone name a recent case of two high profile recruits saying they were a "package deal" and then actually following through on it? I feel like we hear this several times a year and it never happens.

Good luck fellas. Stanford may you win the Pac 12 4 years in a row and get demolished by MICH in the Rose Bowl 4 years in a row. Washington, you're a young guy, we all make bad decisions.

EDIT: Jesus I can't construct a proper sentence this morning. Please forgive me.

So, out of the bevy of elite DE's coming out of Ohio in this class, TSIO has landed 1.  I think the only one left is Odenigbo and I'm not sure where he stands.   They must hate seeing that much in-state talent leaving.  The Big Ten schools (not just UM) have really benefited from the OSU chaos.

There are UM players who ar studying to be nurses, a very noble and worthwhile profession.  Much better than being a general studies major in my opinion, the field is growing and there will always be jobs.  Plus, with a football player's size, he could be a great nurse for doing some of the more physical labor.  Really, it's a great major for a football player.
