Not a surprise, and our DL class looks excellent (would be super-excellent with O'Brien).  I hope we didn't make a mistake by telling Pittman whatever we told him, though.

That's too bad, but it seems like our DL recruiting has come down to Danny O'Brien or none. Wish him the best of luck except when he plays us.

Good job by Fickell to land him, there is no problem with a homegrown kid staying home especially after the NCAA has shown they have no integrity to level nuclear level sanctions on OSU (I dont assume much at least as they didnt even interview 3/4 of the shady characters from Tressell Gate).

Would also presume that O$U is telling recruits at this point "don't worry, it's all good" as far as further and more serious NCAA punishment, which would again be disappointing.

He never seemed to show that much interest in Michigan anyway.  The fact he never could make the time over the summer to make a visit (unofficial or official) up here said a lot.  Oh well, good luck to him except when TSIO plays us.

there's been a lot of speculation that pittman's commitment to msu is pretty soft. any chance we swoop back in and relieve sparty of their top recruit?

I really don't think so. I believe Pittman's coach gave an interview after he committed to state in which he said UM told Pittman they were full at his position. That problem still stands. The only way I see it changing is if they re-shuffle D-line positions and/or LBs and realize they can take another rush end.
