If Michigan can throw 48-49 million at a head coach, call Saban and then Chip Kelly if Jim's wife says he cannot come home. If they decline, Stoops it is. We will have a top tier guy if that kind of money is available.

Yes I thought Stoops was more of an agent play and maybe he has been all along but *if* the $8M per is real suddenly Stoops can be very real as plan B. He is basically making $5M. If you are tossing around $8M your plan Bs turn into something very different than Mullen or Whittingham.
Most guys dont even deserve $5M we are talking about as plan Cs but Stoops basically has Bo's winning % in the modern era (with scholarship limits) over 16 years.

Yep it is a raise for all but 7 NFL coaches. Hell John Harbaugh "only" makes $7M. Might as well throw $8M at him and listen as a "plan B".

I don't see it. Stoops is the all time winningest coach at Oklahoma. He's not going to leave that program to come be our consolation prize for not getting Hardbaugh.

and I would say that he deserves just below that type of money.
and he could do IT at Oklahoma and Michigan...
I'd consider taking Stoops even over Miles (even though I have not liked Stoops performance in big games dating back to that KSU debacle in the B12 CCG many moons ago).

I mean coaching extensions with more pay due to being mentioned in the Michigan coaching search. It's like an undeniable salary lift for all concerned just by being named in the search process.
