This could be very serious.  Watching the news now, many ambulances there.  They are saying at least 7 shot.

As previously mentioned, too many of these incident happening now.

These are something else.  OSU's Emergency Line tweeted out instructions to "run hide fight" (in that order) which is I guess the standard instruction for this kind of thing but still uncomfortably real.

Unconfirmed hearsay on r/cfb is that one or two people hit students with a car, then got out with a knife. but it's way too early to say anything definitely.

but doesn't solve anything.  If someone is schizophrenic or completely out of their mind, the death penalty does not work as a deterrent to future shootings.

Locking someone like this up in a mental facility to understand how that mind works, how to medicate such people, how to limit their access to guns, etc is probably the most pragmatic approach.

My sister-in-law lost her best friend in the Virginia Tech shooting. I've seen the pain this can cause so I hope and pray that no one gets hurt.

Why did the OP feel compelled to put a joke caveat in their thread? Very insulting to site users!

That being said thoughts and prayers for all involved at OSU ... this kind of shit is ridiculous

About that, a large chunk of those comments should hopefully be gone at least on the main site. I just removed the whole subthread even though individual remarks may or may not have been problematic - that's just how the interface works here.

I just don't want to see anyone say things they'll regret, especially in a thread reporting this sort of event.
