Acquiring a Jake Butt Jersey?

Submitted by Augger on

Greetings MGO brethren,

I come to you because I could not figure out where else to turn.  I have been searching high and low for a Jake Butt jersey.  I cannot seem to find one anywhere.  I figured I could just get one printed up, but the websites that officially sell jerseys ban combinations of # and names of real players.  I get that because of the O'Bannon lawsuit schools and the NCAA have had to pull back from Jersey sales,  but I am shocked that getting a jersey for our amazing TE is impossible to come by.  Is there some black-market jersey place I can search out?  Or I am just missing an obvious place to buy them.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

What you need is a Mandich jersey!

The first two photos below are from the upset of the century in 1969, Bo's first year. Ohio State was the undefeated defending national champion on a 2 year winning streak & of course ranked number one, we were unranked. (Why was 8-2 Michigan unranked?)

They beat us 50-14 the year before with Woody going for two to hit 50 at the end of the game saying the reason he went for two was because he couldn't go for 3! The lowest margin of victory the entire year for OSU was 27 points!

They were known as the greatest team of all time and were being compared to the Purple People Eater Vikings!

From a BR story, quotes from the great Glenn Doughty:

Bo was just an awesome leader relative to just getting you fired up," Dougthy said. "Even though they were rated No. 1, we had something for them."

All of the momentum and confidence Doughty spoke of reached an unbelievable high in the locker room just prior to the game.

Chants were yelled, lockers were beaten and there was absolutely zero intimidation displayed by any of the Wolverines. To this day, Doughty has not seen anything like it.

"I played professionally for eight years and I never have seen or felt the energy level that was in the locker room just before we went out to play that game. It’s amazing how many of us remember that locker room scene prior to the game…I’ll tell you one thing, there was no intimidation whatsoever relative to Ohio State. None. Not that game. Not even close. They were in trouble."

Well here we are again, Bo's football son Jim Harbaugh in his first year trying to bring back the luster to Michigan football and possibly looking at another undefeated defending national champ Buckeye team rolling into Ann Arbor.

Jake Butt will be wearing the 88 jersey of the great hall of famer Mandich. He'll get a TD catch against the hated Buckeyes just like Jim and he'll be seen in a scene just like below celebrating the glorious victory before being carried off the field as a hero!

Harbaugh will be the awesome leader relative to getting them fired up (& in all other ways) and who will have ever seen or felt the energy level in that locker room the way it will be before that game? ............. Noooooobody!

History is repeating itself in 2015!

Amen, Go Blue!
