ACE: Laquon Treadwell Highlight Video

Submitted by Ace on

With 2013 receiver Laquon Treadwell getting a Michigan offer yesterday, I'm sure a lot of people are interested in seeing him on film. There hasn't been much out there until about an hour ago, when someone posted this highlight tape from the first half of this season:

Though Treadwell doesn't display top-flight speed, he's got most everything else you'd want from a receiver—solid size, good hands, and (probably his biggest strength) the ability to get yards after the catch. He's quite physical for a wideout, and as you can see he also plays defensive end. Treadwell will be one to watch for a potential early commit—he was here for the Notre Dame game with his teammate, 2012 commit Anthony Standifer, and he seemed very excited about the offer. I know he plans on sitting down with his family and talking things over, and it's still quite early in the process, but things are looking very good for Michigan right now.

I love his size. Also reminds me of Hemmingway with his elusiveness. Considering he doesn't have that burner speed, and that he's a big body, I would like to have seen some more downfield passes with him adjusting and going up for the ball. But I guess that's just something you have to deal with if all his high school runs is screens and slants.

Do we have numbers on his speed? He doesn't look fast but he is a big kid and that probably makes him look slower. I don't know anything of the quality players he was playing against but he was running away from folks on film. His size definitely sticks out, after a few highlights I could pick him out from the other receivers without the diamond highlighting him. Good hands, good moves for a big man, looks like he would be a good pickup

Looks alot like Justin Blackmon or Michael Floyd. Not stupid crazy fast but fast enough to where it wont hurt him. Really nice elusivness. Nice strong hands. Routes look good. Man I wish I could of seen him at some camps or combines over the summer. Would love a challenge like this with me being a CB. He even blocks!

offering guys early for 2013.  We won't be signing as big a class as 2012 (maybe 18 or so), and after a (hopefully) strong finish to the season and a top-notch class to come next year, we can and should be more selective.  To compete at the highest level, we need to land more elite players.
