Um, what the title says:
@JordanPayton Jordan PaytonI will not be making my decision tomorrow.
I have to think that does not bode well for Michigan's chances with him.
Also possible he was overwhelmed by ND and wants to take time to let things cool down and rationally examine the 2 schools.
Not sure I believe that but there's reason to think this isn't that bad.
Somebody always seems to post a gif that perfectly fits a large number of posts on this blog. I don't know how it's done, but I'm glad it does.
Maybe its the beer talking, but that is pretty damn funny. I think I laughed for a good ten minutes.
is on the plus-side of what just happened...or he is just enjoying the other guy's agony so much he can't help cheesin. Or he just has no idea what is going on, doesn't look like there is much going through his head at the moment.
Pissed guy looks like Al Gore. Weird guy looks like Stiffler from American Pie
as to why the delay?
It's a big decision. I think he genuinely liked ND, and wants to take his time with it, but I have no reason to believe Michigan doesn't still lead.
This is the right thing for him to do. The last thing we want is for him to commit, and then transfer in the middle of his freshman year.
It's interesting, though, given all the negative stuff that's coming out about Kelly (the USC players saying that they gave up in that game, his comments after the game about his players, the on-camera stuff, etc..) that kids are still having positive experiences there. If I was a prospect, I'd have second thoughts about that program.
Not to mention the fact that ND already has three WRs signed on for next year.
You're right that ND already has 3 wr commits, but only one of those is a consensus 4 star. The other two are 3 star guys so this might not scare off Payton as much as we would hope.
Besides, he seems confident enough in his abilities that no matter how many good wr's ND has, he probably believes he will be able to crack the starting line up in a reasonable amount of time. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that there is another way of looking at it.
or is that still on?
5 spots left. Get them while you can because they are going faster than night game jerseys in Ohio.
Hold me Ace
Not good....by any stretch. We really need a WR in this class
It's certainly not great news, but I wouldn't get too worried. Michigan is still in good shape in terms of receiver recruiting, and Payton is still planning on announcing pretty soon, by all indications. Even if Payton doesn't commit (though I think M still has a very good chance), receiver recruiting is going to be fine. (I think this is the metaphorical "holding" being asked of me.)
I will be mildly bitter about drafting the "Hello" post, however. And for the jinx-accusors: C'mon, you knew I had to have it ready.
Can we go out and get DGB?
If M had a shot at DGB, then they'd be in "tremendous" shape. Not happening.
... more room for DGB... right?
In all seriousness, it's a big decision for the kid. Hope he chooses Michigan... hopefully it happens.
But according to some guy on bucknuts who heard it from his girfriends brothers friend who knows a former player, DGB is a lock to suit up in scarlet and gray next year.
Yet, you can't stop looking at it.
tht guy has a lot of teeth.
It sounds like you could use a little of this......
I now pronounce you man and wife.
Jeez. We've only got 4-5 slots left for recruits with 3+ months to go. Do the math.
Why so negative?
Trolls generally are.
<insert facepalm guy gif>
goodbye cruel world
Brady Hoke can't recruit receivers! Rabble-rabble-rabble!
IT'S SO SHINY.
A shmoke und a pancake? A flapjack und a shigarette? A shigar und a waffle? A pipe und a crepe? A bong und a blintz?
Is Goldmember doing a little mini Touchdown Jesus thing in that picture?
I love Goooollllldddd!!!!
The farther away we get from his ND visit, the more it will wear off. He was favoring Michigan heavily for a reason, so once this cools down I'm pretty confident we will be his leader. It wouldn't hurt to get another visit, though.
Let me be the Nth person (where N = very large number) to ask:
WTF is it with ND? How are they able to recruit well after being mediocre for so long? Does *tradition* mean that much?
Isn't that the only way we can get recruits the last couple of years? It hasn't been because we are winning.
...20 years > 3 years
I just did the math. He's right.
I find it rather amusing to picture Brian Kelly recruiting. Maybe it's because I can only picture him when his face is about to asplode.
Lets hope *tradition* means that much!
We sure as hell arent recruiting based off our recent success...
