I think it's like a bowl game. I'd assume they want a general student section, depending on how many will be attending. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want the students interspersed among alumni, because that could turn chaotic.

Unlike the bowl game, I think the tickets are even more expensive. Hopefully they make them less for students who purchased tickets. I won't be one, so it doesn't matter for me, but I still hope I can go with friends who will still be students. If the price is through the roof, the stadium might be pretty empty.

What happens if I'm not an alumnus yet, but I will be then? I'll be in a transitionary period where I'm still a student when they start selling, but not when the actual game happens. Hope they don't lose us senior in translation. I'm sure they'll have it worked out right? Guys?

Maybe I'm just angry at the ticket office/AD for other recent personal screwups.

Unlike a bowl game, we have had a year to make travel arrangements to get to JerryWorld. The LSU-ORE game was considered a sellout with ticket faces starting at $70 for the 400 level. Because of the success of that game, I've heard that tickets for the M-Bammer game will be priced at $100 or $125 for the same seats. The resale market was obnoxious for the LSU game, as well. Tickets were be offered AND PURCHASED for 3X's face.

I know a lot of people were upset with the Sugar Bowl tickets and the resale market but this will be different, IMO. Obviously, choose at your own risk but I'll be buying mine though the UM tix dept.

What about tickets directly from the Athletic Department?  I would expect that the Athletic Department would be selling tickets, at least to season ticket holders and maybe (probably) the public.  I would not be surprised if they offered students tickets as an add on to their season tickets (although I really don't know).

The Alumni Association gets into the business of selling tour packages to bowl games and this game, apparently.  They package the tours with tickets they get from the Athletic Department.  However, my experience with extra home tickets is that the Alumni Association's tickets are far worse than what is available from the Athletic Ticket office.  I wouldn't be surprised that for tickets only, you can do better through the Athletic Ticket office.

I suggest anyone interested watch for announcments on mgoblue.com as well as the alumni association website.

I agree about the comment re StubHub tickets.  Last year's kickoff game (LSU-Oregon) was the hottest ticket for college football on StubHub (just a little hotter than the UTL game against Notre Dame).  I am not sure the bowl game strategy of waiting for cheaper tickets on StubHub applies here.  However, it is an interesting question.

I can't bet against Michigan, on principle. If I could, I'd lay heavy money on 'Bama. And I'm going to the game, rooting for Michigan. I'm just sayin, that line is nuts.
