for our curent situation, but isn't this Georgia situation something we can look at as an example of where we can go? Richt was under massive fire for a couple of years - he had good recruiting classes but bad luck, injuries, crazy plays, you name it - and the entire fan base wanted him out. Give it time, I am not sure Borges should stay, but not everything happens overnight or in three years. I have to believe (perhaps with rose colored glasses) that we will prevail over time with Hoke.

There is definitely a comparison to be made. The Georgia fan base wanted him gone because of a couple of down years (one of which was worse than year Hoke has had so far). His were do in part to injuries and some bad breaks. While Michigan offensive issues haven't been caused by injuries, you seem to be forgetting about Countess and Ryan going down amongst other players. And whether you like it or not having a lack of depth from injuries and from bad recruting classes can have the same effect.

...you're dead wrong about the entire fanbase wanting Richt gone. Women (and there are a TON of female college football fans in Georgia) and Christian men love him. And he recruits at least as well as Lloyd Carr used to. The frustration with him is that he beats his rivals fairly consistently (now that Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier aren't coaching at Florida anymore) and recruits enough thugs to win his share of Fulmer Cups and enough NFL prospects to keep UGA well-represented on Draft Day, but he can never for whatever reason get it together to win the ESS EEE SEE now that accomplishing that is an automatic bid to the BCS championship. He coached the last SEC champion to lose the Sugar Bowl, in fact...to West Virginia and some guy who talked funny and ran this crazy offense no one ever heard of.
I honestly can't come up with a set of circumstances that would result in UGA firing him or choosing not to renew his contract.

Just read this. Sad shit, I was really on the Georgia train ealier this year; they've been my "favorite SEC team" these past few years and I think/though Murray will be an NFl talent. I hope this doesn't limit his potential in playing and making money in the league.

Agree on Georgia. They are also my favourite SEC team, mostly because of Mark Richt. If they are healthy this year they win the SEC East.

That's too bad. Georgia seems like they can never catch breaks.
