Aaron Hillman to Illinois

Submitted by 34Hybrid on

I look on the board and didn't see this posted yet. Tim Beckman apparently hired Aaron Hillman to become his Head strength and  conditioning coach. Good Luck Aaron and thank for all that you did for Michigan!

I don't know Hillman or his particular techniques but I watched the ESPN feature on the S & C coaches at LSU &  Alabama yesterday and I'm sorry - they all seem to me like the same basic guy.  They are alwayswaaaaaay too excited and think yelling is somehow the be-all, end-all to motivational techniques.

I lift regularly and I can tell you that if some over-caffeinated assistant coach wannabee started yelling at me like these guys do I'd politely tell him to drink a big cup of shut the fuck up.

Our S&C coaches didn't yell at all, other than raising their voice to address the whole group. The quietest one was a former team captain who's bro played in the NFL. Before you go all, "LOLZ NU" remember our football team ran a LOT of hurry up/no huddle, had epic 54-51 49-48 games. I offer this in complete support of the above points that you dont have to yell and be wild to be effective in the weight room, and show that not all teams are like that.
