A2.com Poll of Michigan Players Part 2
A2.com's Pete Bigelow just posted this story with the results of an informal poll conducted with Michigan football players. Part 1 MGoPost here. Topics covered include:
- Nastiest locker on the team (Taylor Lewan in a landslide)
- Best class taken at Michigan (Tie: Classic Civilization with David Potter and History of college athletics with John U. Bacon )
- Favorite place on campus (Tie: Law Quad, Michigan Union)
- Favorite pizza chain (Cottage Inn)
- Where Dave Brandon worked before becoming Michigan AD (Interesting result)
- Teammate most likely to follow in Gerald Ford's footsteps and one day become POTUS (Jack Kennedy - natch)
- Teammate most likely to follow in Dave Brandon's footsteps and one day run Domino's Pizza (Perry Dorrestein)
- Teammate most likely to follow in RichRod's foosteps and be a college football coach (Mark Moundros)

Surprised it didn't get any votes at all. Picking a favorite pizza place in Ann Arbor is pretty impossible for me, though. I basically like them all.

Thinking that maybe because they said "chain" it DQ'd Bell's or Pizza House b/c there is only one?
August 26th, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
There actually is a Pizza House in East Lansing, but I don't know if two "links" makes a chain..

Out of all the avatars with the imposed winged helmets, I like yours the best. Nice.
Now, which player is that? Catavious Odoms? Roy Upatree? Vladimir Felimelian? Or, for you literature buffs, Junior 'extra-digits' Hemingway?
I am not sure why I insist on being so corny lately...I need to stop.

That one is good, but I still love the guy with the, hard to explain, half cat/half human face. I just picture it talking out every statement he makes in some amazing cat like voice.

be furious when he sees that none of the players chose Dominos. Barwis Beach for everyone!

Fluid dynamics, a naval engineering class - 1

Patrick Omameh? I know he's studying engineering.

I love it whenever a student athlete has a real major.
August 26th, 2010 at 12:53 PM ^
Thanks Jim. How's Stanford going to do this year? Andrew Luck looks impressive.
August 26th, 2010 at 1:26 PM ^
but the whole professional athlete thing doesn't always work out and an engineering degree is a much better fall back than a general studies degree.
Edit: Don't get me wrong I'm not down on anyone, but I'm just saying that I get same giddy excitement out of a guy who can handle a tough major while being an athlete (I probably couldn't handle either) as I do when someone is exceptionally gifted athletically (i.e. Charles Woodson)

Omameh is double-majoring in sociology and communications according to his Countdown To Kickoff video.

MGoShoe. That's how he gets us all of this information.

Tay Odoms would never have gotten along with Mike Gittleson.

No kidding, how could you not like pizza?

Whoever said "the arb" is their favorite place on campus clearly loves to blaze.

hot sloppy.

Classic Civ with David Potter is great. I took Clciv 385, War in Ancient Greek and Roman Societies, by far the most interesting class I have ever taken.

If the Mr Spots in Ann Arbor is as good as the one in Bowling Green then someone one the football team is eating some amazing hoagies.
August 26th, 2010 at 1:40 PM ^
Mr. Spots is the reason why I want to go visit Bowling Green. I was talking to a friend yesterday, trying to rank my favorite things from Spots, and I just couldn't do it. It ended up with a 4-way tie between:
- Chicken Tenders (with Hot Sauce for dipping)
- Spots Burger
- Hot Wings
- Hoagies
The first thing I'm doing when I get to Ann Arbor in 6(!) days is eat at Spots.

Even more amazing if they are the one who listed the arb as his favorite place on campus.
August 26th, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
They must not have given the Fleetwood as an option.

I want to sit in on the History of college athletics with John U. Bacon

What I found most interesting is that Moundros was in the top three for each of :who is most likely to be President, who is most likely to be CEO and who is most likely to be a head coach.
While his ability at the LB position is still unknown, this poll suggest his leadership amongst the team is unquestioned. I have a feeling we are going to be surprised (pleasantly) by his performance this year.
